I easy rooted and have been useing bb0.4, have rom manager and clockworkrecovery.
I wanted to try simply stunning for frg01 as that is the 2.2 build I uploaded manually.
I down loaded simply stunning tonight and all looked well durnig the process, but when my phone restarted i still had the bb red eye then the word droid appears and melts/fades away and reappears, I cannot turn off with powerbutton had to pull battery.
I am ignorant in these things. my battery was at 100% when I started, and I will have a fresh one in the am also.

Please help

did you wipe both the data and cache before installing the rom? also what kernel did you use, stock or did you use a different one?

please also post in the right section. there is a droid hack section at the top of droid area

I told rom manager to back up, and wipe data and cach I was going to use simply stunning with a lv 1ghz kernel. My battery was 100 when I started and I have another fully charged one ready. I also have clockwork recovery.

hmm... 1 ghz lv. that shouldnt be a problem. try wiping the cache in the recovery manually. if that doesn't work, swap it for a lower voltage kernel. maybe a 800 or 900

I never use rom manager to backup and install. It's way too quirky. I always manually download a rom, boot into clockworkmod, and then follow the normal install procedure (backup, wipe data/cache, install rom from zip).

Yeah I always did it manually but I love to wipe everything prior to an install. Wipe data cache you should be golden. If that doesn't work wipe everything then restore your backup
