I bought a lg optimus from a sprint store a month or two ago and it already as vc on it is there anything special I need to do before I try this method or just follow instructions?

That means you have the OTA update which is unrootable using any known methods. Follow the instructions for reverting first.

OK I seem to have hit a wall. I downgraded to V9 (fresh out of the box phone with VC) but my screen goes blank (V9 drivers don't support new hardware apparently) So I guess my question is, how can I root the phone and flash either custom recovery or stock V9 if I can't see the screen? Do I do this through terminal and KP500? Steps? Get back to me, this black screen is pissing me off. Thanks.

Just Reloaded Update which gave me VD to get my screen back, Phone came stock with VC so I probably still have the VC Recovery. Just force flashed VC, waiting on instructions so I can downgrade back to V9 so load the V9 recovery while in back screen.

P.S. Everything works while in black screen, I can even unlock the phone, dial ect.. just can't see what's going on..

So bottom line, when I force flash to V9 how do I flash the V9 recovery so I can root so I can force flash the VC/VD update to get my sceen back? while in back screen.

GAHHH!!! The freaking lg software updater updated my phone to zvd!! This is so frustrating. I was soooo close this time... Last time I updated my phone to zvc so i couldn't root it with z4root, and now it updated to zvd instead of v9. I have no idea what im doing...

I am currently working on OSCC 2.0 which will include limited rooting functionality for LS670ZVD. The reason I say "limited" is because there are some prerequisites that OSCC cannot perform for you. Remember that OSCC is no substitution for a proper understanding of the underlying procedures.

In the mean time you may use the LS670ZVD rooting guide. The prerequisites aren't that difficult but you do need to READ READ READ READ before just diving in blindly.

Root exploits aren't just something you can cook up after an afternoon of downing brews. They exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying OS therefore can be REALLY difficult to produce.

So instead of asking for an exploit (which wont get you any answers) why don't you READ the rooting guide (and the revert link in sfhub's signature) and root it yourself? You will gain much pleasure from knowing you can do it yourself PLUS learn a few things about your phone.

I have kind of a stupid n00b question here, but I'm trying to figure out how to unroot and revert back to stock on my Optimus S... I understand the procedure for actually rooting the device, but don't know how to get back to stock without a permabrick... if anyone can help me out with links for the SW I'll need to do this it would be greatly appreciated...

Please note: I have read Zefie's tut on how to do this, her links are down for the recovery DL and flash_image, which I think I actually already have on my sdcard but not sure. if anyone can help me out, again I would greatly appreciate it, also... if anyone needs to reach me easier, like via email... let me know and I'll give you my addy... thanks in advance
