SuperUser is installed, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.
What happens when you go to Terminal Emulator (or adb) and type "su"?
If you get a #, then you have root access, if you get "Permission Denied", then your phone is not rooted. Try again.
Make sure you read and follow all the instructions (including the popups).
Not rooted. Followed all the instructions the past four or five times I've tried it with no luck. Any specific suggestions?
In that case, then I would try to do it manually. Read the whole thread first. There are other tricks and tips in there that may help (or problems you could avoid).

Followed the manual instructions, and when I run rageagainstthecage, I get the "Don't type anything and wait for reset" message once, then it kicks me back to the android directory where I ran adb shell and running shell again still gives me the $.
This is getting frustrating.
OK, I'm sure I'm doing this wrong somehow, but I can't get my newly-purchased Optimus S rooted.
When I reboot the phone into recovery mode and apply the update from the SD card, I get an error message saying the update could not be applied (which I understand it's supposed to do.)
I then try to apply the root exploit and the phone just sits there doing nothing while the Command Center window flashes a couple of times, then it gives me the "your phone is rooted!" message. However, Titanium Backup says it can't get root access when I try to run it.
This is a fresh out of the box Optimus with VC. Ideas?
Of course it didn't work, you have the OTA update. No rooting for you until you do this.
Does this work with the new VD update? Has anyone tried?
Probably not until there is a ZVC/ZVD root exploit available, which could be quite some time. Will there ever be a one click root method for the ls670zvc software version that came as a ota update?
Is there a way to use the LG update tool and and just go from V9 to VC. I went back to V9 and could only go up to VD. Thanks.
See the revert thread in my signature. Look in the reference section forIs there a way to use the LG update tool and and just go from V9 to VC. I went back to V9 and could only go up to VD. Thanks.
