Switch between platforms

I switched from the iphone 11 Pro Max and the Apple Watch Series 5 to the N20 and Galaxy Watch. The watches are hard to compare because the Galaxy Watch I have is GPS/Wifi only and not LTE like my Apple Watch was. I think Apple is a little bit better but I need more time with the Galaxy. The Note 20 is beautiful. I've had Android before but I couldn't get past one month before going back to iphone ( I started with the first gen iphone so it was hard to break away). I have fought the urge to return the N20 twice but I think that because of what I am used to. I have been integrated into Google for a long time anyway and it is great. If I can get past the return period I will be fine. I sold my iphone already and the watch to ensure it. I miss imessage and some of the other integration, but ios is really stale and boring and the cameras on the N20 are fantastic as are a lot of it's other features. You will have to tear my ipad and Macbook out of my cold, dead hands though. Samsung has nothing on the Apple tablets or laptops.

I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max right now and I’m doing everything I can to not buy the Note 20 ultra lol. I’ve looked at it twice in store, checked availability multiple times. Only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger yet is bc I would be the only android user in my family and friends circle. iMessage for me is really hard to leave

Buy it. You won't be sorry. imessage is nice but it's not all that.

I have Verizon too. Haven't had any issues with voicemails. If coming from iPhone to Android...I make sure to sign out of iMessage and turn my iPhone off. Then pop my sim into my Android phone.

What version of the Note did you get? Unlocked or Verizon? Just curious if there is a native VVM app? Thanks!

I had the Note 10+ twice last year. Once on release then again right around the start of the pandemic. I do like Android and enjoy the customization but still feel at “home” with the iPhone. Though I’ll make a full decision after I see what the iPhone 12 pro max has to offer.

I carry both.. I'm fully into the iOS ecosystem with work and friends ... iMac .. MacPro.. iPad ... Apple watch 5 ... I won't ever leave it .. it works .. it does things right .. there is always some things that need improvement both platforms.. now I enjoy my Android side ... Note 10+ / Pixel 4 XL ... Love using both daily .. love Android and will always as well ...

I got the unlocked model from direct from Samsung. I always try ti buy unlocked if i can. I use the native VM app that comes on Samsung phones. I do not use any of the Verizon apps.

Hmm that’s odd. I used an unlocked note 10+ last year on T-Mobile and it didn’t have a native VM app.

I've used an iphone regularly enough, but I don't know what the big deal is about iMessage.

It's just a messaging app. Personally, I think it's just something Apple played up, and then allowed it users to further make a big deal out of something that isn't that important.

Just my own opinion. My family and friends use a variety of Apple and Android that no one ever gets 'left out'.

Agree with you on iMessage. I certainly don't see it as a must have feature or a reason to stick to apple. I use both operating systems, and am never "left out" of any messaging going on between iPhone and android groups. It works fine either way.

Always carry the latest iPhone and one or more Android phones. Can't leave iOS since it's awesome same way I can't leave Android since it's awesome as well. I enjoy using both

I use both. The iPhone 11 Pro I pretty much use as my pocket camera and do everything else on the Samsung device. Samsung has been going down the drain with their camera performance like LG.

Apple is a great point and shoot but Sammy IMO takes better photos in daylight where apple does better in low light. It's ashame they can't combine and have a superb camera.

My Note 20 Ultra will arrive tomorrow and I am very nervous about moving away from iMessage. I know I will need to disable it on my iPhone before switching, but I also use iMessage on my iPad, Macbook Pro and Mac mini. So far, on those devices, I have just un-selected my phone number from iMessage and have only left my email address enabled. Hopefully that works.

They both take great still photos. When it comes to taking photos of my kids Samsung's shutter lag is horrendous and the face smoothing is super annoying.

I'll be honest. I use Android for my daily driver, but when it comes to Tablets, I have not found an Android tablet I really love or use regularly. Yeah, even the Samsung Tablets.

Soooo... I have an iPad 7th Gen with a Data Package. I am not an Apple fan by any means, but when it comes to quality, usability and just using as a Media Consumption Device, I use my iPad more than any other tablet I have ever owned. It's the ONLY Apple product in my eco-system and it'll probably be the ONLY Apple product for any long period to come.

Many years ago, I switched from blackberry to iPhone 5...until iPhone X. The only phone that always interested me was the Note line up, was close to switching when the Note 7 debacle happened so... I was like really Samsung? so finally last year I switched from iPhone X to Note 10+. All my family members couldn't believe it, I did and NO iMessage is not a killer feature for me or my family we use Whatsapp so no biggie. I can't begin to describe how much I've liked this phone, I thought I was able to do everything I needed on my iPhone (and I was) but this phone is a freaking powerhouse, and the multiwindow, multitasking windows resizing, Samsung dex, etc. The S20 came, now note 20 I'm still very happy with my 10+.

Also in my ecosystem:
-I had apple watch 3 and changed for Galaxy watch active 2
- iPad pro 9.7
- MacBook pro early 2013 running without a problem.
Felt a slap in the face when I heard that Big Sur won't be (officially) supported on my mac but still no hiccup here. The level of app refinement found in iOS is the best thing ever, but I'm happy to see how far google's android has come and one ui has also come a long way I think.
