The business model Swype uses it through the carriers and manufacturers. You can find it in some threads on this forum, but it's not legal. To obtain it legally, you'll have to wait until your phone receives it in an update.

i try to swype a word and it does nothing except the keyboard will get a blue outline

It happens occasionally. Just press the swype key. I think sometimes its not focused on the input box .. this connects it to the current input box. The little "i" on the swype key will turn blue.

It does auto space. To capitalize, just swipe off the top of the keyboard for any letter you want. But auto proper case after periods would be cool.

I downloaded it on my Eris last week and love it. It does FC every so often, but starts right back up most times without any problems. Even with that, it's still very much worth having. Absolutely love it.

There was a new release of swype.. Using the new one on my MyTouch and it is way better than the previous version. The UI was tweaked a bit. Deleting words is a lot easier to do now as well. Tapping in keys works a lot better as well.

Has anybody used SlideIT? I'm curious how existing Swype users feel SlideIT. I'm thinking of giving it a try because my Swype has been FC'ing more and more lately, it seems, and has been slow to respond when initially opened.
