Looks like the fist buy in the update is regardless of u select icon with or without frames the icon still has frame around it. I believe that was change in preaching wasn't it. Anyone else has this issue?

Remember to update galaxy apps. I forgot and happened to look and had 10 apps that needed to be updated to Oreo version.

Updated this morning here in Ohio. Phone home screen went black after update not sure what happened but had to do a factory reset.

Ever since the update I keep getting a popup saying "pyramid" has stopped. Is that have anything to do with the update or what? I don't have a app named pyramid so not sure what is going on!

No I have never made any changes to the display settings. I think I fixed it though. I reset the device and set it up as a new phone instead of from Google or Samsung backup.

Good to hear.

For years my recommendation to other Android device owners is to avoid using Google, Samsung, or your carrier to update your apps and data when setting:

It works for plenty of folks and it absolutely smokes others. So either:

- Never use backups of apps and settings

or, if you do and encounter any problems...

- Get a fresh start with a clean factory reset, following by manually installing and setting up your apps.

Still nothing here in Cincinnati. Can’t say I’m surprised. One of the worst parts about non google phones.

After the Oreo update, I updated the stock email app. The email app update seemed to break the notification dot. It doesn't show up anymore. Anyone else seeing this?

I had to do a factory reset to fix my Note 8 after the update. The display would show not anything, except for a few dashes. It's ok now.

I went to settings and did the update that way. My phone didn't get any notification.
Yeah I've checked there a few times today. Says up to date. Oh well. Doesn't seem like there's any big changes. Would be nice to have the security updates though.

My update went fine this morning. Not that it was laggy or anything, but it seems much smoother now.

Overall, after a day of use I must say Oreo has been great. My Note 8 has always run smoothly and Oreo just made it that much better.

The Samsung keyboard it now my daily use keyboard beating out both Swiftkey and Gboard. The little changes to the UI look great. Predictive text is miles ahead of my previous use keyboards.

Battery life is much improved for me. I'll give or week or so to post results to be sure. <Usually after an update there's a battery drain that takes a day or two to level out. >

After years of being a Google Keyboard/GBoard fan, I have to agree with you that Sammy's keyboard is very, very fast and it's predictive capabilities far outstrip Google's. I am using the Samsung keyboard and so far, I am very happy with it. The integration with handwriting is also better than Google's handwriting keyboard integration.

So far, I've been having no issues and I've been on Oreo through Tmobile since i got up this morning. :)
