T-mobile $30 Unlimited data, Text, 100Min Voice

The g1 will get 3g, but the mytouch slide is light years ahead of it. I used to own both.

I know. The g1 is a slow phone. But is the internet? Because at this point. Anything is better than a fast phone with virgin mobile :p

Ah, its been years, but if you can manage to put a custom ROM on it, i'm sure it would be manageable.

On the t mobile my account website it shows my data counter was reset from 50 mb used to 500kb without restarting the month. That's weird but looks like i get more full speed data then. Or does it reset at the first of the month?

my unlocked samsung galaxy s2 is not getting 4g speed but 2g only because it did not come from Tmobile? this is stupid. it is prepaid.. so why would you need to have their phone? does anyone have any fix for this or if anyone who has unlocked phones that still get 4g speed(within 4g coverage area)????? please help! not happy!

So I picked up my Amaze 4G from a friend who works for T-Mobile for a awesome price of $355. Got the $30 100/unl/5gb plan. Today, I hit the webguard a few times while on my lunch, so I registered on "My T-Mobile" from my phone, turned off webguard, and rebooted the phone. Webguard is off now. What I think is funny is that it shows that I've used "48.2mb of unlimited" (which should really say 5gb), I've had 3G watchdog installed and setup since the second day I've had the phone on 10/21, I've used about 1.6gb's since then, I too am confused as to why my usage is grossly lower than reality. That all being said, I too wouldn't be upset if my cap just started over, lol.

It is probably not compatible with T-Mobile's 3G bands. Same thing happens when you try to use an iPhone on T-Mobile.

I was going to get this plan for my hd2 but came across simple mobile $40 unlimited talk and text and 3g I'm not sure how much data you get yet but I was talking to them on the phone and they said as long as your not abusing the bandwidth your golden.
I get 2mb dl average and around 4mb burst. I'm pretty happy with it right now i don't need that virgin mobile minute widget :p

my sim card arrive tomorrow. how much is it to get started? ( $50 bucks activation fee plus $30 first month bill. or $0.00 activation fee and $0.00 first month bill ? )

The edge network after 100 MB is terrible in Chicago. Simple surfing is alright, but navigation does not work most of the time! I am sticking with $25 VM, 3G not the fastest but quite stable.

What plan did you have?

That's not good. So is the throttled speed the same or less than the normal full speed of 2G EDGE??

To be clear here, the plan being discussed here does NOT have a 100m high speed limit. This $30 plan has 5GB of high speed data before being throttled. After 2 weeks on the plan I had used just over 1 GB. I don't anticipate I'll ever reach the 5GB limit.

I think people are confusing 100 MB with 100 min.

It doesn't help that the T-Mobile Monthly 4G plan spec lineup is all over the place. Every plan has one, two, or three asterisks after it. Pricing isn't linear either. And their duplicate price points just make it worse. They need to restructure/rethink their plans and make them more comprehensive. Prepaid consumers tend to want simple to understand plans. Like Virgin Mobile for example. $35/$45/$55, just pick the minute allowance you need, everything else is the same (data/text).

It's quite a mixed bag.
I keep looking at them thinking one may work better for me, but each time I keep deciding I am just better off with Virgin.

I know Virgin works well for me, plan and service, my complaint really is just the phones. They really need to do something soon.

Agreed about the phones. I love my OV dearly, but sooner or later it will be time to move on. And three Android releases later and I have zero interest in any of them. I was actually just thinking how much punch is packed into the Exhibit II 4G on T-Mobile, for the same price as VM is charging for a 600MHz Wildfire with 3.2" screen. I'm hoping enough people leave VM for offerings like this to light a fire under their butts.

They need to start with the Marquee, and they need(should) price it under $300.

i switch to t-mobile. 30 bucks. it is pretty fast. i like it. average download speed is 1MB. upload is 290Kb. when i first activated my g1 with it. i was only getting 400 kb down/up. but it seems to have fixed itself. though i wish there was a harmonia rom for my g1. hint hint >.>

Harmonia isn't exactly all that special.
Remember, it's premise is a stripped down, basic rom.

Take your phone, extract all the updated stock files to your sdcard. Grab a rom you like, stock but overclockable in this case, remove all the extra junk, replace the old files with new. You now have 90% of Harmonia. You don't get a few extra bits like apps2sd support, but if you find a basic rom that has those, you are set.
