The g1 will get 3g, but the mytouch slide is light years ahead of it. I used to own both.

So I picked up my Amaze 4G from a friend who works for T-Mobile for a awesome price of $355. Got the $30 100/unl/5gb plan. Today, I hit the webguard a few times while on my lunch, so I registered on "My T-Mobile" from my phone, turned off webguard, and rebooted the phone. Webguard is off now. What I think is funny is that it shows that I've used "48.2mb of unlimited" (which should really say 5gb), I've had 3G watchdog installed and setup since the second day I've had the phone on 10/21, I've used about 1.6gb's since then, I too am confused as to why my usage is grossly lower than reality. That all being said, I too wouldn't be upset if my cap just started over, lol.On the t mobile my account website it shows my data counter was reset from 50 mb used to 500kb without restarting the month. That's weird but looks like i get more full speed data then. Or does it reset at the first of the month?
my unlocked samsung galaxy s2 is not getting 4g speed but 2g only because it did not come from Tmobile? this is stupid. it is prepaid.. so why would you need to have their phone? does anyone have any fix for this or if anyone who has unlocked phones that still get 4g speed(within 4g coverage area)????? please help! not happy!
What plan did you have? The edge network after 100 MB is terrible in Chicago. Simple surfing is alright, but navigation does not work most of the time! I am sticking with $25 VM, 3G not the fastest but quite stable.

I think people are confusing 100 MB with 100 min.
It's quite a mixed bag.It doesn't help that the T-Mobile Monthly 4G plan spec lineup is all over the place. Every plan has one, two, or three asterisks after it. Pricing isn't linear either. And their duplicate price points just make it worse. They need to restructure/rethink their plans and make them more comprehensive. Prepaid consumers tend to want simple to understand plans. Like Virgin Mobile for example. $35/$45/$55, just pick the minute allowance you need, everything else is the same (data/text).

I keep looking at them thinking one may work better for me, but each time I keep deciding I am just better off with Virgin.
I know Virgin works well for me, plan and service, my complaint really is just the phones. They really need to do something soon.
i switch to t-mobile. 30 bucks. it is pretty fast. i like it. average download speed is 1MB. upload is 290Kb. when i first activated my g1 with it. i was only getting 400 kb down/up. but it seems to have fixed itself. though i wish there was a harmonia rom for my g1. hint hint >.>
