T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel (Update: Bill Credit w/ new plan signup)

T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

Unless Verizon exclusivity is over, I feel like it'll be something along those lines.

There is a Reddit thread going on as well and some supposedly T-Mobile employee said it could be some credit if you get a Pixel and activate on pixel. That could be it but hopefully that applies for existing or new customers.

From the comments

"Spoke to a manager at the store today who said they are going to give you a $300 bill credit if you bring a pixel in and activate it on T-Mobile"

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

Hmm... It'll be interesting to see what he announces.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

I loved T Mobile, I just have bad coverage here in Flint, Michigan. Lots of dead spots.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

T-Mobile actually is faster where I work but once I get home its totally dead.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

So no one will leave to Verizon or Fi, He will probably say buy one and bring it over to T. Just looking for some of the Attention.

That would be interesting... but I already use T-Mobile.. and already switched my SIM from the 6p to the Pixel so it's probably for "new subscribers" but that would still be pretty awesome on T-Mobile's part to keep sticking it to Verizon....

I still find it funny to see the Pixel commercials that say "Only on Verizon" I am sure T-Mobile just wants to say "No... Not only on Verizon" anyway they can..

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

This is the announcement. Sucks for me.. I hate T-Mobile one. My grandfathered plan is 100x better.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

Oh. $325 is nice, but I don't really get T-Mobile One to even bother with this.
Yeah the money is nice but that plan would cost me more per month with less stuff (throttled down video). In the end I'd lose. For new customers it may be a deal.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

I wouldn't really care about the T-Mobile one part but I'm guessing the phone has to be active on the line for 24 months to get all the credits. Very unlikely I'd have the phone that long.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

It's $325 credited over the course of 24 months, so about $13.50/month credit bringing the price of the plan down to under $57 before taxes. Nice way to offset the cost of the phone (particularly if you financed it through Google) if you planned on using it and activating new service on T-Mobile with it.

That said, wonder what they'd do for people who may have bought a Pixel and signed up for that plan already, before the promo began.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

Thanks John, I can get a $13.50 credit/month if I lock into a new T-Mobile One Plan for 24 months. The new plan will only cost me about $40 more per month than what I pay now (and it's a much better plan).

Another attempt to draw people into the new One plan and away from their grandfathered plans.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

AC has a post up on this as well: T-Mobile will give you 50% back on your Google Pixel purchase | Android Central

T-Mobile's offer page: Google Pixel Offer | Bring Any Pixel to T-Mobile & Get $325 in Credits

It doesn't say anywhere in the fine print (that I can tell) that the device needs to be active on the account for the 24-months; however, it does say you need to enroll, so perhaps the credit is tied to the enrollment for that particular line in which you redeemed the Pixel credit. If that account leaves T-Mobile, or switches plans, then the credit ceases.

MAYBE for a new customer.. I've been on T-Mobile since the Nexus 5 came out and I switched from Sprint. I am grandfathered into a two line $100 a month plan with unlimited 4G LTE so these newer plans would cost me more so even if they offered me the $13.50 a month credit for 2 years to switch to the new T-Mobile One plans I'd have to pass.... It's not that good of a deal for me.....

To their credit (sorta), they do say it in bold print in the "How it works section" above the fine print:

Receive $325 back via
24 monthly bill credits

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

Hmm is this only for new customers? I'm currently on an unlimited plan, not sure if I want to go to that T-Mobile one plan.

Looks like it's for new customers only... My grandfathered unlimited LTE plan is cheaper and better so it's not really a good deal in that sense...
