T-Mobile: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

Have you been on the JOD program for 3years?..How is your credit with tmobile? If the answer is yes? Call tmobile as soon as possible!..have them check your order, it's possible that the person who processed your order wasn't aware of the update!...
I paid $81.99 + shipping!.
Good luck!

I have been with T-Mobile for over 14 years now, so my credit is very good. I've been told by many reps that the $81.99 down is for people who are on the JOD lease program and I am on the regular Jump EIP. The only option for the EIP is the $279.99 down. I've tried and no luck getting them to lower the down payment.

Well...buying a new phone every six months is definitely a waste of money. But you can view it as a vice, entertainment, whatever. I was a math major, which means I suck at basic arithmetic. Nonetheless here are the numbers:

If you can get the $80 down payment, then you're paying $360 to use the phone for (presumably) 7 months until the S10 comes out. If you can't get the cheaper down payment, your total cost over 7 months is still $280+7*$30=$490. If you buy it outright and Samsung has the same $450 trade in offer come Spring 2019, it's $650 for the same 7 months. Also, Samsung's S10 deal likely won't be that good, so you're rolling the dice on what is at best an inferior deal.

Whether you can get the preferred pricing option or not, JOD is still better than buying the phone outright. Conditioned, of course, on the assumption you will be buying every new flagship phone Samsung ever released.

What is JOD

I would guess that the $82 down payment is probably for jump on demand customers, but only the ones they decide are worthy, the rest they couldn't care less about. Maybe that's what their Un-Carrier events will be like after the Sprint merger, Sprint did excel at purging customers.

What is JOD

The regular JoD is for people who want to finance to own the phone in the end, I was on this program for many years until a sales rep told me about the leasing option with fits me better because I change my phone's twice a year Jod leasing basically you could trade in the phone at least once a month 12 times a year

Who the hell needs a new phone every month!!! Seriously??? Strange people out there

Nobody, aren't even 12 phones a year worth using. They added the 12 times a year stuff last year I think, maybe beginning of this year. Basically it was a useless perk added to make it seem like they were looking out for customers.

For real?!!!!! I did not know that!!!

I can see it. It says it'll ship only on the 24th, but I know better than to take that seriously.

Everyone install the UPS app? I've found that the tracking number will sometimes show up before T-Mobile even sends it to you. Then you get to state at the "Order processed: Ready for UPS" message for the maximum length of time!

I can not see mine. When i go into order status it says this:
Order Status

Thank you for your order. Our systems are currently not available to retrieve your order information. If you placed an order recently, please allow up to 48 hours for our systems to be updated with your order information. Please try again at a later time.

Long time T mobile user here even before it was called tmobile....Well I called and was able to order the 128 blue note 9 and here's the best part nothing down and the will credit me 180.00 and that will be my down payment...

Awesome Awesome awesome! !! I won't lie though I called quite a few times before I got the right one!!

Not sure if this was already discussed. I spoke to the retention department yesterday, and was told we can't get the $500 via monthly credit if we want to buy the N9 outright; it has to be on an EIP. That sucks, cuz I always buy my devices outright. I just ordered the 128gb from Samsung, with my N8 $400 trade-in.

now comes when will T-Mobile or Samsung start shipping LOL this is the funniest part lmfao, I've been enjoying this ritual for years now but everybody relax if you are pre-ordering no matter what shipping method you use you will get the device on release date some before

Dude, I think at this point I preorder the latest phone from Samsung just so I can enjoy these threads with you guys!

Well your one lucky guy. I've been with T-Mobile for over 14 years now myself. I've called a few times myself and even on Twitter and Facebook chats and no luck. What did you say to them to get them credit you $180? I guess it does take the call and the right time. I can try to again later but I'm sure I'll get the same results,, no.

I got the same results as you, it's like they want to lose customers.
