I just tried again a few minutes ago. Still chatting with them, actually. No dice. She said I will be at 3 years on 8/30 and to contact them again after that. I told her that there was no assurance that I would qualify. Unless she knows something I don't. Maybe that was the only factor keeping me from the low down payment.Well your one lucky guy. I've been with T-Mobile for over 14 years now myself. I've called a few times myself and even on Twitter and Facebook chats and no luck. What did you say to them to get them credit you $180? I guess it does take the call and the right time. I can try to again later but I'm sure I'll get the same results,, no.
They gave the same line about trying to keep payments low while still allowing everyone to upgrade after 30 days. I said that doesn't affect me or most anyone else because I typically only upgrade once a year. With the high down payments, no one else will be dumb enough to use it either that soon.
I also added what's needed is a simple JUMP program that allows variable down payments and allows you to upgrade after half is paid off. Is this that difficult to pull off? If you planned on keeping your phone for a year, maybe you you put down $100. If you plan to upgrade after 6 months, maybe put down $200 or more. You're in control. Simple.
