I payed the $14.99 shipping rate.... I believe that is 3 day shipping?.. There were several people on the Android form that didn't pay for shipping! It was waived!
The terms are only 18 months to buy it or upgrade at that point. However, the payments are usually broken up into 24 equal payments, not 18. With this $40 per month, you owe slightly less after 18 months. But, if you jump at least once a year, you are losing that extra little money per month.JOD terms are 18 month instead of 24. And I believe the payments aren't actually designed to pay the phone off after 18 months. At the end of 18 months there's a final, larger payment to actually own the device outright
$279 is ridiculous unless you plan on owning the phone after 18 months. It totally defeats the reasoning behind JOD. It's like a car dealer charging the same $149 per month for a $20,000 car or a $30,000 car and instead charging $10,000 down payment. Probably not the best example. Just making a point.I don't think they care if I stay or if I go lol. I had 3 lines and threatened to leave. Then I canceled 2 of the lines and they still called my bluff lol.
I can afford the $279 down but I refuse to give it for sake of principal.
Agreed. They should be consistent in offering free shipping. That's what irritates people, the inconsistency. Personally, I wouldn't pay for overnight shipping. I don't need to be the first to get it. However, if I had to pay $8 for 2-day shipping and someone got free overnight shipping, I would be a little irked. So I asked about the free shipping and was told that it was only for people who ordered accessories too. I was like wow that's funny because I know a bunch of people that got theirs shipped for free. Kinda ticks me off that they would lie like that.

You expect to more more per month for a Note phone. The ONLY reason is to get more money from the customer to offset turning it in early, not to regulate your monthly payment.
I just contacted tmobile chat and they told me that there is NO free shipping on this promotion!

This has me seriously considering ordering direct from Samsung. The plan prices aren't bad on T-mobile. Not sure what other carriers are charging at the moment. That's probably about half my bill, including the insurance. Basically, there is no real incentive to order phones through T-mobile anymore. This why I left TMO. They keep making JOD harder and harder to use. It used to be you could use JOD 3 times a year with no money down.
They are making JOD so that no one wats it use it.

I will have a decision to make at the end of the month when I know if I can get the $81 down or not for our two phones.
I'm sure they make most (if not all) of their money on plans. However, I think they were losing money on the JOD devices and really don't care if phone sales drop by 50% because they weren't making any money on them in the first place. Basically, this is our price, take it or leave it.Makes me wonder if they're trying to discourage people from ordering and make their money on plans and low end phones in store.
