T-Mobile: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

Yeah, I'll be skipping the Note 9. Something about the odd numbered Notes [3,5,7]... the 3 was okay. The Note 5 of which I never considered a true Note. The Note 7 - We all know how that turned out. The Note 9 - Not seeing much of an upgrade over my Note 8 to want me to put up a $600 down payment.

Note 8 for another year!

My Note 5 stil works and I got it on launch day. Used it for 2 years (missed all the fun with 7). Yes, I've been using the 8 since launch, but I can power up my 5 and it'll work.

Of course the 7 was actually 6... so the 9 is the 8.

I'm waiting to see what happens after launch. I couldn't stomach the $279 since I'm just on JUMP. But maybe after they're out.

If you did pre-order and have to pay for shipping, you can contact t-force , or call them to get refund for shipping fee.
PreOrder mean you will get that on release day , and no shipping fee . I just contact them and they credit me back 2 order I did.

I already talked to them. They gave me a $10 credit. Which doesn't mean I'll get it any sooner its just they credit me because I complained to much about other people getting free overnight shipping. I'm still hoping to get it by Friday but I won't count on it.

complained on chat and text. Got a call back saying my down payment is now $80 dollars.

We have one week from the big day. Hoping we start getting tracking information or even banks accounts been charged. I think Monday will be the day that things begin to roll.

I contacted Facebook and Twitter chat lines(tmobile) to no avail! I was told that there was no free shipping on the note 9 promotions!.
On this form there are several that received free shipping!
And many that paid!... This seems like a double standard to me!

Just went through chat support on the app. I basically said that I just reviewed my charges on the pre-order and saw a charge for shipping and that I was under the impression that the pre-order included free shipping.

They responded with what you just said. I then responded with the fact that I saw a bunch of people on a pre-order thread getting it for free and wasn't sure why I would be treated different. She then credited $8 to my account.

I also got denied on Twitter earlier....

When I worked at T-Mobile we were told T-Mobile is only allowed to finance customers $720 hints why all there phones are set to $30 a month or lower. And the customer is left paying the rest. It isn’t T-Mobile’s fault it’s just how they have to do it.

I used Jump on Demand to order Note 9. Upgrading from S8. When asked for color, I said purple at least twice. I am getting blue! The Rep was Indian and hard to understand on the phone. I still don't know how he confused "purple" for "blue", especially since I corrected him the first time he said blue. The color is not a big deal because I will be using a case, and the blue is a nice color too. The copper would have been better.

As an Indian myself, I find this hilarious!

Yeah...I'm trying to say 'blue' and 'purple' in my best Indian accent, and I still can't get them to sound anything alike. That's weird. You should call them again and get it fixed.

Also, isn't Tmo now doing that "team of experts" thing where the people you talk to are dedicated to your particular area? Not much point in doing this if the experts are all in Mumbai...

Except that isn't true because there are people giving $81 down and paying $40 a month

Actually JoD is 18 months. $40 * 18 = $720

But there is still a balance owed at the end with an option to either pay or return the phone, so there is is still more than $720 being financed. T-Mobile could technically ask for no money down, charge everyone on JOD $40 a month and just defer the rest till the end for people getting either the 128 GB or the 512GB model. Or no money down for the 128GB model and $250 down for the 512 GB model, same payment of $40 a month and same amount due at end of lease or return the phone. But the whole "we have to keep the payment under $30 a month" is false. In fact I pay $39 a month for my Note 8 right now. But this different payment tiers for people on the same program with basically the same credit rating isn't a very good idea.

With JoD you are not financing you are leasing. The balance at end is not factored in because you have to turn in or lump sum payment. Just like leasing a car vs buy.

As far as different tiers pricing, I agree 100%.

Leasing is still financed. It's a loan for the leased total - $720. Same as leasing a car. You are financing the total lease amount - total sum of your payments.
