T-Mobile: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

iPhoneX over Note 9? No way!! I'd pay it off and simply order unlocked. You will still get features like wifi calling since you're on Tmobile. My motto is always pay in full for phone. None of this payment bs. I'd I'm too poor to afford it then I just don't buy new toys.

I get it, since I myself am both financially well off and frugal. Hell, I just paid full price for a car since I generally don't believe in financing things.

JOD kind of makes this an exceptional case though. Say you have decided you want to get a new phone every six months. Doing an 18 month JOD lease makes sense because you only pay the down payment plus a third of the remaining cost, less the buy-out cost. Assuming Samsung puts out the S10 in March, that means I pay 7*$40+$80=$360, and recoup the $640 remaining by essentially selling my phone back to T-Mobile. If I buy my phone any other way, I have to count on trading it back in for some uncertain value, which will probably be less than $640. In this case they are offering $190 less!

Anyway, you gotta do what feels financially most responsible, but this is just something to consider. JOD is good if you get every new phone Samsung makes. If you keep your phones for longer...then your approach may be better.

Yes literally this. Idk what the hell Tmobile is thinking anymore, but that's a joke. I used to rave on Tmobile until I switched to Verizon last year and seeing this - I'm glad I did now.

$500 down lol...

They'll have to pay for the soon to be merger with sprint somehow....

For us in our account on T-Mobile it Was $81 And change for the 128 gig model.

For the 512 gig model they wanted $525. That's outrageous!

And I have excellent credit.

Just left my local T-Mobile store and they will have the demos out tomorrow. The lady who told me said she was the one who going to set the display up. So I told her I'll stop over again on my home.

Time to drop JOD and and buy direct from Samsung. It's not financially feasible to pay an outrageous down payment plus monthly payments to keep a phone for 8 months. I could lease a car for the price I'd pay for the 512gb note 9.

You have probably been a T-Mobile customer for more than 3 years. Those that haven't are stuck paying $280 down, which is bs.

Exactly, jump on demand is a complete waste of time. The Samsung deal is far superior at this point.

Just got done ordering mine on Twitter. Managed to get a $200 bill credit to offset the down payment after a little bit of complaining. So when it's all said and done I paid $96 for the phone with the fastest shipping. If I wasn't on JOD I would have chose the Samsung financing. I really wanted the extra 2 gigs of RAM though, but I'll only have the phone for 8 months then I'll have to talk my way into a credit towards the s10.
Wow. They only offered me $50. Maybe I should hold out a little longer. I wonder if they all have the authorization to go to $200 bill credit?

It started out at 80 then 130 then eventually 200. You have to stick to your guns. I have 7 lines and was ready to go to Verizon, but didn't want to deal with all the hassle. Glad they finally made me a reasonable deal.

Maybe I'm thinking about calling and canceling my order and try my luck with the $81.99 down. But that also means they will also charge $40 a month instead if $30. I can only imagine how much the S10 will cost and how much down payment will be.

That is what I have done for my last 3 phones. I mean the last couple times samsung.com has shipped early as well. Plus, tmobile charges you a fee to order LOL when doing it through the store or customer support. That is why I go through samsung and going unlocked route this time.

I got a $200 bill credit and $29 a month so $80 down and they threw in free next day shipping. Squeeky wheel gets the grease.

I've tried both tmobile stores and calling customer service and neither will give me the option to give $81 down payment with jump on demand. There is no was I give $300 down on a phone I could potentiality trade in next month

And I've been with tmobile for over 4 years

Didn't work for me. Twitter chat said it was for the JOD lease program and not for the EIP, is which I have.

I went through Samsung directly. No money down $41 a month for the 128gb and $52 a month for the 512gb. You can upgrade every year. I went with the 512gb because of the 8gb of ram. Also free expedited shipping.

Do you have a phone to trade in for the half off bill credit? I couldn't do that because I'm on JOD. I have a like new note 5 sitting in the drawer I was hoping to trade in, but I couldn't do eip.

That's what I was gonna do to get the 512gb but I'm on JOD so I would have to pay almost $400 to turn in my s9+ and it wouldn't be worth it in the end. Really disappointed in JOD and that's the only reason I switched to t-mobile.

I'm thinking of paying off my s8 active and buying it out right, then get the $400 trade in from Samsung just to get away from purchases from T-Mobile. Not worth dealing with T-Mobile at this point. Taking the small hit now and won't have to worry about it down to the road.
