T-Mobile: Galaxy S9/S9+ Official Pre-Order Thread

trying to get used to this new fingerprint scanner is rough, I never had an issue with the placement of last year's models.
I am fine with the placement for using it but I'm having a little bit of a hard time adjusting to how I hold the phone in my hand. I think I can overcome that though

It has arrived. Luckly i stayed home instead of hitting the gym since UPS came early today (2:30pm instead of the normal 6-6:30pm)...20180313_145057.jpg

So are you going to hit the gym with your new phone
Not today. Tomorrow ill make it up.

I dislike going after 3pm since 4-5pm its starts to get busy. And i like to chill a hour before i gotta get ready for work.

Dude how freakin pumped are you lol I'm at work and mines delivered. Can. Not. Wait. To. Get. Home.
I went on lunch and stopped by the ups store in my way back and it wasn't there yet. Got back to work and got the text that it was dropped off so I went right back up and grabbed it. Now I'm home and I'll be glued to this thing until midnight or so.

I'm hoping my local store will have 2 9+ Friday.

I have tmobile, but when the Note 7 came out I wanted another case. Of course I only got it one day before release day so on release day I went to an ATT store because they had the case I wanted. I asked the guy how many Note 7s they got in and he said only 4 of them and they sold out that morning.

So is that normal on release day to not have that many? I know when I bought my S7 a couple weeks after it came out I had to call to make sure the UPS truck came because they had none in stock.

I wonder for theft reasons they don't keep a lot of phones in stock at the stores.

That's my biggest complaint right now. I actually liked the placement on the note and s8+. I have bigger hands so it's a little awkward placing my finger on the middle of the phone. I'm sure after a couple days it won't be an issue anymore.

Exactly, this phone feels so tiny to me, just gotta get used to it, I'm not complaining at all.

no need to hear about your big hands.

hahahhaha. merely joking. a little comic relief here.

no ill intentions meant. hope you don't mind. cheers.

downsides to having a lot of apps installed?

it told me while i was doing my Smart Transfer that i have 155 apps.

that got me thinking:

more apps means more access to data. wouldn't the phone be more secure from hacking if one were to fewer apps? maybe i should uninstall as many less used apps as possible?

any advice would be most appreciated. thank you in advance.

Finally got mine delivered about 30 minutes ago. No time to play with it though cause I have choir practice. But it's charging and will be ready to roll as I already have 2 cases and nano liquid from Spigen to test out for screen protection. Can't wait! S9 in lilac purple

Bummer big time: i have the S9+

even though Samsung Smart Transfer went well and Google resync'ing went well too, out of the blue, when everything just sync'ed properly and i seem to be able to start using my phone normally, there was a pop up that said something like: SD card malfunctioned, reformat now.

when i clicked "yes" for the reformat, there was some strange machine code type of gobbledygook, something that said "...failure". so i turned off the phone, pulled out the sd card drawer, carefully reseated both the SD card as well as the sim card. restarted the phone.

no to avail, neither the File Manager nor ASTRO app see any SD card now.

anyone else has issues with their SD card/card reader?

it seems like the phone no longer sees a card inserted.

my sd card is Samsung and i just bought it from B&H, which is about as legit as it gets.

Have you tried another card? Just to verify its a card issue or phone/reader issue

Last time ive had a sd card go bad in a phone on me so when I had a S4. Ended up having to buy a new sd card.

I have thick skin, I have worked in an automotive shop for the last 15 years. It takes a lot more than that to bother me.

Let us know how that nano liquid works, I'm done with trying screen protectors on curved screens. Went without on my note 8 and it had some noticeable scratches, but I turned it in to tmobile and they didn't say anything about them. I have the supcase with the built in screen protector for work and it seems to work pretty good. Hopefully that will minimize the scratches this time around.

Try putting your card in an adapter and putting in your computer and see if it recognizes it. If it does back everything up to your computer and try reformatting through your computer then reinstall.

Well pretty bummed now. Tracking said out for delivery since 9 this morning. UPS app just changed a few minutes ago to in transit and rescheduled for tomorrow.

That sucks, I guess look on the bright side. You'll still get 2 days earlier than in store purchasers.
