With the merger now complete between T-Mo and Sprint, will Note10+ 5g users or any T-Mo phones see any benefits as the 2 networks are combined? I know the new S20 variants will, but are older phones left behind due to hardware limitations?

I would like to know too
Looks like only the S20 models and newer will only be capable of using all spectrums of T-Mobile 5G while the older phones only can connect to the low band, slower 5G. Pretty disappointing considering the premium I paid for 5G but I guess thats what I get for being an early adopter. Kinda makes me want to trade in my note for a S20+, but may just wait for the note 20.

Probably not going see until around 3 year mark what the merger can do . As for older phones not sure .

Edit: older phones will take advantage of both carriers lower spectrum but just miss out on 5g

Waste of money buying those 5G phones, There really isn't as of yet real 5G , Samsung is just taking peoples money by the time the real 5G comes those Phones 2020 won't be worth having since there will be better phones by then, Thats one reason i don't fall for those phones that supposely is 5G all Fake.

Philadelphia is supposed to have upgraded to 5g. When my daughter's down I'll run some test and post them.

Honestly I see many benefits for mmwave 5G in the next few years, just not in phones. Are you going to stream faster, download emails faster? I did see one person talk about how fast he downloaded a big game. I don't see the point my home WiFi is around 500 Mbps. If I need to download something big, maybe once a year I can wait until I get home.

For everything else, like MS Teams and downloading office files 4G is great.

Maybe in a few years we will see a need for fast mmwave 5G, but right I don't see the need.

Didn't I hear that at least 2-3 yrs ago.

They have places if you live there that is 5G.

But the places are small.

If the carriers could charge you a bunch of money.
They would be putting to 5 g towers .
What happened to the government giving them a tax break or something to put up 5 G.

I hear 6 G is already the next thing.
But not here.

It is out..... Depends on how your network density co-exists in a state of flux.

Coverage in Houston is poor.

If my wife has to go back from working in Houston.
The Verizon coverage don't show Westheimer and the BW area.

Coverage in humble is poor.
I live out 50.miles from humble.
I go to Houston once a month.
Right now, once a week.

Let the Chineese take it over.

They will have it every where.

And maybe we can have a Huawei phone that works and takes great pictures.

I'm tired of hearing the hype and seeing poor 5G coverage.

So wait another 3 yrs.
Why not just forget 5G. It will be outdated by then.
They both still using their own towers , takes time for them become one and they both have some 5g already . By that time anyway 5g should be kicking strong.
