T-Mobile users make sure you're using a 5G SIM card.

I haven't been able to find any definitive information about that. T-Mobile is mishandling the rollout, with many of its reps saying confused or contradictory things. The most knowledgeable rep I've spoken too so far was unsure whether SA was supported yet for the N20U. And there's apparently no visible indicator of SA mode on the phones, even when SA is active. So I don't know a good way to tell.

For me it is signal strength and speed at home. When my s20 u got sa 5g i went from 1-2 brs to 4 bars and speed went to 150 from < 10. The note 20 is 1 bar and <10 so I know it doesn't.

Hm, my N986U1, with the R15 sim card, gets 5G with 5 bars at home (-72 dBm), and up to 119 Mbps download. I don't know what if anything that tells me about 5G SA, though.

Yeah hard to say. I was able to see before/after with my S20 ultra so I know what it did. I am just assuming note 20 sa 5g should be similar to s20 sa 5g...when i get it

Just got my sim in today

Edit: they credit my account the 10.00 through chat support on the app.

I got sprint still and I was able to use my old 4g sprint sim and 5G on t-mobile's network works great.

I have strong 5G reception in my area (Maryland/DC) But ever since the software update that hit my phone on September 26th I haven't picked up a 5G signal Since. I am beyond pissed and no clue whats going and Sprint can't give me an explanation

Do you have roaming turned on? My understanding is "Sprint" no longer has 5G, that T-Mobile has put it all on T-Mobile's network; though it should be available to you on Sprint. My thought is that it is either a SIM card issue, where your card doesn't recognize that it can connect to T-Mobile 5G or that it requires "roaming" on the T-Mobile network and you have roaming turned off.

I guess it is also possible that it is still in the transition period -- it has been pulled from Sprint's network but not yet added to T-Mobile's. I suppose it is also possible, but I think doubtful, that T-Mobile didn't have coverage in the area, and turned it into 4G service for the T-Mobile network.

So the internet went out in my area and has been out all day. I been using my Note 20 Ultra as a hot spot for my Macbook and IPTV.
My speeds start to decrease as I believe Sprint/Tmobile is throttling me. I play around with my hotspot settings and come across an option to change the Band to 5Ghz. The moment I change it, my 5G reception comes back. WTF?
Somehow the software update I guess changed that setting.

Is your device branded or unlocked?
