Talk me out of getting a V30

128 is probably plenty but I do like to load my music locally and I do see lossless as something I may use this year, either tidal or Spotify (if they ever get around to it!) That could use a lot more space.

Audio is a concern too. I have been underwhelmed by the audio both wired and wireless, my s8 is better in both regards.

I currently have a Pixel XL and was all set to upgrade to the 2 but I'm being swayed by the LG V30. It just looks better in almost every area and isn't as bland as the Google phone. I'm very impulsive and can't wait till October 4th to see what the XL 2 will offer. Do you think it will actually be any better than the V30?

I was considering the V30 as well but went with a Pixel 2. Here are my big reasons:

- quicker (and more certain) updates
- pure Android experience
- didn't like the all glass back of the V30
- not as big a deal: Fi is an option

Also keep in mind the resell value. V30 owners may be crying when the initial hype over the V30 dies down. IMO the Pixel's have retained their value right up there with Apple and Samsung. So in a year when the V30 price drops quite a bit, you'll be wishing you got the Pixel instead.

Does Pixel receive regular monthly security updates when you get the phone through a network/carrier?

Well .. I am not sure if outside the US carriers offer the Pixel but in the US you get the same updates if you have the Google version or the "Verizon" version.

Everyone wanting a V30 needs to check out side by side photos against other phones. It may have impressive hardware on pager, the shots don't look very good comparatively.
