Did you let the rep put their grimy paws on your precious baby?
Did the "its a gift" line work?
How many people did you push to cut in line?
Did you run over a dog on the drive to the store?
How was the weather? Cold?

Give us the details!

well i arrived about 7:30(store opens at 8) and was messing around with my old phone waiting for them to open, there was about 6-7 people(i was 3rd in line) when I went in the store they asked what I wanted and told them the nexus and then picked out some accessories and then got everything set up. Even got a nice little $50 discount through my work that I did not know I had, so overall great and smooth experience and got the phone, case, screen protector, and extended battery for $334. i was expecting to pay around $400. So I got the phone I wanted and saved money, can't beat that.

The rep did put their hands all over my phone, but I don't mind that.
I got there as they were opening the doors and there were already about 18 people in line.
We all orderly signed in, and went up when called. They had 3 people doing activation, so it was pretty much groups of three that got called up. It did take about 1.5 hours until I was out of the door.
Interestingly the wallpaper I use on my galaxy tab was loaded up on my Nexus (the wavy green one). Not sure if that is just a coincidence.
I didn't buy insurance or a case. I'll probably buy a case shortly, but I wanted to do some research. About $260 total with my company discount.
It downloaded some apps automatically and I just updated from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2.

Got there at 8:40AM, 10 minutes later than I desired. I was 4th in line and then 6 people showed up afterwards.

Somehow, the lady doing the check in goofed and I got a sales rep before the 3rd guy in line.

Either way, they were adamant that I could not leave the store without activating the microSIM (they'd have to ship the phone + SIM to me in this case, making me wait another day *shudder*) and the guy wasn't technical enough to understand that my ThunderBolt could have been used to activate the SIM (leaving the Nexus untouched for me to unbox). Apparently if the activation doesn't work before I leave the store "they can't charge my remaining balance." Maybe someone can elaborate on that.

Had some activation issues because my signature didn't take the first time so I spent 30 minutes when it should have taken maybe 10 to 15.

After leaving the store I did not have data (the store had WiFi) so I had to reboot the device and I got 3G back.

Finally, once 5 minutes after 3G turned on, I was alerted with an OTA notification and just finished installing it. ICS even "optimized 16 Android applications" on boot post-upgrade. I don't know what that means yet but I do know it will be annoying if this happens with every OTA. I'm hoping it's just the Dalvik cache being repopulated (when this happens on other phones, the boot process takes longer and you are left in the dark as to what's going on, making you fear you just bricked your phone).

Anywho, unlocking bootloader and rooting now.

Im traveling in texas so wasnt sure where i was going. Found a verizon store near the san antonio airport and was there about eight fifteen. The store was already open and one guy was leaving with his nexus and another at the counting buying one. Two more guys came in behind me for GNex too. Im out in the lot playing with it before i go catch my plane. Very nice phone.

It's 4:58 am still and I stayed up all the way...yes, I'm stoopid. And yeah I guess I will let them touch mine if its a @#$% policy. 4 hours left for me to wait dammit

I called telesales to buy mine so i could use living social voucher. As soon as I said I wanted to upgrade she was like "are you wanting to buy the nexus?" lol she was almost as excited as I was. Apparently she won one and her boss brought it to her while she was on the phone with me. Lucky bish.
All went very smoothly, i also got the car dock and i'm pretty sure she bought one for herself. She was awesome and pleasant. I was expecting a wait, but i was actually caught off guard how soon she answered.
I don't know why y'all don't pretend its a gift, their holiday ads even mention you can activate it later. Just take it home and activate it on your account online. Not sure how the sim cards work, but you could always have the sim activated at a different store on your way home (even a 3rd party should work)

ordered online thru VZW website at 1:03 am this morning..done inside 15 min , billed to account, free 2 day shipping,(not that big of a hurry)..just checked the order status a couple of minutes ago and has shipped out, no tracking number yet but check back with that at end of day... :)

I got to my store here in Tampa about 8:50 (store opens at 9). I brought my rented Razr (hehe) and the box it came in. We have a lot of stores in the area so there was only 8 people waiting for the store to open...I was 4th. Doors open, I got a rep right away and they gladly took my Razr back and I paid the 35 bucks for restocking and everything went smoothly. Within about 15 minutes of opening, the place was packed full of people wanting the GN. I'm glad I went when I did because I was in and out in 30 min. They kept telling people they had plenty of stock so don't worry. I kind of chuckled at that one because at 6pm last night they said they had no info, stock, accessories or anything...lol. I did see a demo unit when I walked in but there was no advertising at all for it.........no signage, posters or anything. The packaging, like other people have mentioned, is very low key compared to the Razr. I just can't believe I have the damn thing....

I got there at roughly 8:50 am. 3 people were already there in front of me. I wasnt sure if they were actually waiting for Nexus until they started talkig about the phone :). I chatted with one of the guys for a few minutes then the rep let us in. I exchanged my Razr and got the GN. Took about 30 minutes. Pretty smooth. I originally bought the Dizztronic case for GN and so I asked to see the extended battery just to be sure it fit the case and it did. So I bought it. (Just wanted to give a bit more insight on extended battery....its thin!!! You can barely tell its extended. lol) Nice Experience. He had his hands on it for roughly 5 minutes before I snatched it away and began setting it up myself

Also Dont know if anyone else notes, but Less than 10 minutes of having my phone update came through. Android version 4.0.2 ;)

walked in, told my rep ralphy that i was activating when i got home; just needed the phone and the car dock of they had one. they didnt have the dock, but he didnt hassle me whatsoever about activating later, was out the door in 10 minutes. unlocked the sucker before i even booted it up for activation :)

Walked into the store, told them not to activate it and walked out without any grubby paw prints on it

Went to the VZW store this morning about 10 min after they opened. Already 3 people ahead of me buying. I was buying off contract and told them it was gift because I don't like them activating and touching my phone. I would rather do it myself.

I watched the rep tell the guy next to me that they had to put a gmail address in or things would not work properly. Fortunately the guy had enough sense to know she was full of it.

My store opened at 8am. I got there around 8:20 or something. 5 guys ahead of me all getting the Nexus. In about 20 mins I was out of the store. One of the guys said they got 30 in stock. One funny thing another one of the reps said to herself but aloud..... "this was the most disorganized launch ever". I'm sure many of you would agree with the sentiments LOL.

My guy gave me a hard time with that and even spoke to the manager. They said they would have to ship the phone to me if I didn't want to activate it in store. Sounds like bull but whatever.

OK I will just put my foot down and sternly demand for my own activation. Hope I don't cave.
Rep -> "I'm sorry sir we can't let you activate it on your own"
Me -> %$#@ you! lol

My experience was the same except i was number 6 in line (South Jersey). The rep was not exactly gentle with my phone either but it's not like he scratched it. Took 15 minutes to complete the transaction. They said the only other phone that had a line waiting at launch in the recent past was the iphone. Hopefully Verizon will get the hint and always get future Nexus phones.

They can do it in the store because I just did it without activation.

Walked in, was second in line at 9:45. Walked out at 10:10 with an activated phone. VZ is painless. Phone doing OTA update as we speak. I must confess, ICS feels VERY different. Haven't had the chance to really play with it though.

If it was AT&T, I'd still be in line and wondering when the bar across the street is going to open up.
