Text not working all the time

I am on tmobile with the regular note 20 and about 3 months ago my text would stop sending and receiving text messages. I spoke to tmobile twice finally they said they would send out a new device.

I went to the store to pick up the new device and the store associate said it was the 5g causing my issue. So I didn't take the new device but Everytime it happened I shut off the 5g and within a minuit the text would go through so it wasn't the phone like he said. Anyone else having this issue?
 
I've seen that happen on Att then switch to lte only and was good so I wouldn't be surprised if it can happen on Tmobile or other carriers when it shows the 5g symbol.

Mine often happens when my WIFI-Calling is on.
 
Att here. Been getting messages, regularly. But having trouble sending of late. Cleared the cache. Reset network settings. Forced stop. Trying multiple apps. Making me want to get a throw down IPhone so I have consistent messaging. Also been turning wifi calling on and off. Sigh.
 
I was having the same issue using the Samsung Text App but when I switched back to Textra the issue was resolved.

I am tired of it calling tmobile again giving them another chance otherwise they need to give me a iPhone
 
Spoke to tmobile again today they said if they can't fix I can get a different new device.
 
I have done that to prove it's the 5 g to tmobile but for what I paid it should work and they agree my IPhone 12 mini works fine so what not my Android device.
2 different operating system and chips so can't say why for Apple and not Android device
 
But my daughter on iphone 12 with tmobile had issue while on 5g here and there.
 
Waiting to hear from T-Mobile top tier support to a solution. They mentioned changing devices to iOS or the s 21 which is their call. I told them I am not waiting too long it's already been 2 months with this issue.

I am not turning off 5G as they suggested told them I purchased a 5G device to use it not to turn it off.

The only problem is we will encounter these type of issue with 5g until it's more main stream, think of it at this point 5g a feature the phone has for Future proof .

Not for what I paid I want a working device and T-Mobile agreed they activated my note number on the esim on my iPhone 12 mini for a week to see if I have any problems if not new phone. From what I understand the regular note is missing one of the 5 g bands.

Not sure which it be missing compared to iPhone
