Does anyone have an issue with the HTC Thunderbolt freezing up while texting.

I used the default app for about a week and have been using Handcent for nearly 3 weeks but haven't experienced the issue you're seeing. Are you using the default app? If not, is the app you're using running on the phone or SD card?

I'm in the same boat as RichardClark... I used the default app for a few weeks, and recently have switched to Handcent... I like it a LOT better than the default app... the look and feel and much better than the default... but I've never had a freezing issue with either app.

When was the last time you rebooted your device???

I have also been noticing recently, when I would click on a recipient to view their messages, it brings me up to someone else's messages. I just back out of it and retry it works after that, but thats something I have been noticing. I know some have complained that messages are being sent to wrong people, maybe this is how it happens they don't realize it opened up a different message initially. I haven't yet encountered a message being sent to the wrong person.

Installed Handcent and now I am getting double texts.

Open Messages > Menu > Settings > uncheck the Received Notification.

you need to enable "display contact pictures" in the settings of Handcent--this will pull the picture of the Contact (like Facebook profile pic)

think it's under menu>settings>incoming texts?----just uninstalled Handcent the other day to use GoSMS so i could be mistaken of the exact location

That was a bug that Google patched recently for other devices. The ThunderBolt came with the patch already included.

I occasionally send or receive a message two or three times in a row, but never to the wrong person.

If anyone wants to try something different than the default messaging app but not as complicated as Handcent, check out Verizon's messaging app. It's pretty nice and has more features than the stock app but isn't as confusing as Handcent can be.

I don't think so. I use Go sms pro myself because I love the customization options.

Yes and yes. It drives me crazy when it locks up, and it also gets super slow. I send a text, it takes a minute for it to show as sent, and the recipient doesn't get the message for up to 5 minutes.

I mean really, can't they get something as simple as text messaging to work correctly? Why should I have to add another app to get this to work right? Kinda sad......

Great question. The bug still exists on my phone. Happened to me three different times yesterday. Click on a contact at the top of my list and a conversation from someone else opens. Not fixed for me.

I am wondering if this is the same bug that others were talking about when they said their messages were being sent to the wrong person. Could it be that the sender just wasn't aware that a different person message popped up and sent the intending message to the wrong person that way? In short, could this be that real txt bug and not where the phone is just randomly sending messages.

Yesterday was bad, today is worse. Half my texts aren't even getting sent...and I am in 4G coverage with 4 bar strength....what's going on??
