The 15th is the date - photo proof

I live in Tampa, Fl and we have many corporate stores here and I find it odd that some of them have them in stock and others don't. I'm guessing that since several stores let out that it was going to be available on the 9th and it wasn't that it made Verizon look bad so I'm thinking they are forcing the stores to be more tight lipped...who knows though. All the stores I've been to are pushing the Razr though. I told one rep that I had one but I didn't like how thin it was. He told me that the Galaxy Nexus is just as thin (yea...lol)....and then he told me that the Razr will be getting ICS in a few weeks. So, yea, I'm still leaning toward the "Verizon hasn't sold enough Razr's and Rezounds yet" camp.

Next door to ya in Lakeland. Cant find one place that has them even in stock (according to employees). They are all 'going to have them' and but are unsure of the date. Corp store here tried to push the Razr too when I went in and asked. :-$

The fact that a lot of stores set up appointments for tomorrow, this is going to be a bigger cluster than the BB debacle last weekend. We saw the internal memo. If it hasn't been delayed again by now, there will be a LOT of irritated and confused people tomorrow. I think some of the reps at stores are ignoring corporate's edict and are telling people anyways. Some just seem confused on which line of BS is the corporate flavor of the week.

Hey bsmith14, there is a corporate Verizon store off HWY 54 off I-275 that has them in stock and they will show you one if your bored today. This is the only store that is saying they have them which I think is BS because its out in the middle of nowhere. I stopped in there last weekend after shopping at Toy's R Us and they had them but they make you go to a back room to see it...lol

Thanks for the info! If I were off today - Id consider driving over there...might do it tomorrow just to check it out. I was hoping for at least the ability to see a demo unit, but hasnt happened around here :(

I really don't care if I get this phone or another one... the thing will be out dated in a matter of months anyways... I am just annoyed at how this has been marketed. Verizon will see no real blow back whether they keep us confused or finally release a firm date. I do know that I am for one, tired of the "insider" information for this phone, although it is appreciated…

Here's the store....if they say they don't have them their lying:

Wesley Chapel

Update: I just called this store and they informed me that from what they know it goes for sale tomorrow and they are saying they have demo units

Isn't that how technology works? After something new comes out, 2-3 months later something bigger and better will come out. By that logic, if you just keep passing on a phone because Verizon has taken its time releasing the phone (there has been no marketing what so ever, so I'm not sure what you're talking about) then you'll never get a new phone.

Bridgewater, NJ Verizon Retail Store (a hop, skip and a jump down that road from VZW corporate HQ -not that that has any significance whatsoever) has confirmed that they have GNs in stock and plan to sell them tomorrow ** UNLESS ** VZW pulls the plug last minute, which, as we all remember from last week, is still a possibility. Although, if my memory serves me correctly, the 12/9 launch was cancelled more than 24 hours in advance.

When I asked the sales rep if they were simply waiting for VZW to 'green light' the launch, he replied, "No, Verizon has already pretty much green lighted the Nexus launch for tomorrow. At this point, we anticipate selling the phone tomorrow, save for any last minute delays from Verizon. This is definitely going to be a very quiet launch." (Please keep in mind that these were not his exact words --I wasn't recording the conversation-- but the gist of the information is consistent with what he said to me.)

Barring any further postponement -VZW decreed, leaked or otherwise, I plan to be waiting outside when they open the doors tomorrow. It's going to be a very long 20 hours....

Basically yes.... I'm not saying I will pass on all phones, just tired of the non-story here with Verizon. They came out in October and said it would be available early November, then they said by the end of the year.

To be clear, I'm not trying to whine or fight, just tired of the F5/backspace with this and other websites waiting for the angels to sing and the golden gates to open up...lol? my fault, not Verizon?s?

I base what I say on the marketing with what I remember for the BB Storm... commercial after commercial showed us a tease then some more teasing, then finally they showed the device and gave us a date. This release, which I believe is nowhere in the same realm as BB Storm's, has been very quite. I am no marketing major at all so I do not understand all of this as some of you might but it has been over two months of dates and what ifs...

the 12/9 was canned on like tuesday so hopefully this is a sign that they will not can it this time.

^ haha yeah I was just gonna say. Last week's release was canceled on Tues. so we're actually in better shape this week as we've made it to Wednesday.

Called my local Verizon store and when I asked if they were selling tomorrow, the sales rep said "I believeeee so, that's what they say". I asked if they could put one aside for me and she said yes, took my info, and told me I can come by at 8:30.

So I am pretty much confirming what everyone already knows.

My concern is... why such a quiet launch? That bothers me. It's a Nexus, the flagship phone of the operating system, put a LITTLE effort into it like you do your Droids... I know you make less money off a phone you don't fill up with bloat, but Android itself makes you money and you are supporting a platform, not just the phone.

So, what's the best way to tell if it's available on the 15th? I've heard that checking the website anytime after midnight was a sure way, but as of now, I don't see the white RAZR on there.

Suggestions are most appreciated... :)

For most phones out there, I would totally agree with this, though it doesn't really matter because you can't never buy a phone while you wait on whatever is coming next. However, in regards to the GN, I don't think your statement applies. Last year's Nexus is still one of the fastest phones you can buy (and likely THE fastest), even when compared to the latest crop of duel core devices. I think the GN will likely dominate performance until the next Nexus is released, but I'll bet it wont be on Verizon's network.

My suggestion is to carry on with your life. If you are watching TV one night and see a Verizon galaxy nexus commercial then mosey over to your Verizon store and pick one up. That or continually be let down by rumored dates.....

Everyone's been so sure about every rumored date its almost embarrassing. Fool me once shame on you....fool me twice shame on me.

I don't even care whose fault it is anymore these rumored releases are obnoxious. The fact I'm addicted to reading them isn't helping either... :-)

While attempting to not sound like a stalker, are you talking about the one in the Commons or off 202?

My local store says tomorrow.

Edit: I called a few local stores

Store 1 - "yea, yea, its going to be on sale tomorrow." (in a rush to get me off the phone)
Store 2 - "We don't have any official word yet"
Store 3 - "Yea. its on sale tomorrow. Everyone knows that. Definitely." I push him a little bit on how he knows. He asks someone in the background and comes back with "Nevermind. We don't have an official word yet."
Store 4 - "We have no idea yet my friend. Don't have a price, date or anything."
Store 5 - apparently kiosk inside the mall - "Yea, its going on sale tomorrow."I push him a bit on how he knows. "As far as I know its tomorrow. The release date is posted on verizonwireless.com." Um, yea... Never mind. Thanks.
