Wouldnt it be betterto buy the 8 rather then the new 7 plus for £50 cheaper or am i missing somthing ?

At this point the 8 is the flagship Nokia device compared to the 7 Plus, both are great devices but the 7 Plus is classed as mid-range so you are comparing a flagship to a mid-range device. I have a Nokia 8 and I think it's a great device.

I understand that but why would you buy a mid range phone for more money than a slightly older flagship with better specs for less ?

That's the new Nokia 7 and new devices always cost more money, at least initially. The Nokia 8, even though it's a flagship, is older so it will cost less money. Makes no sense until the Nokia 8 Sirocco is out and costs more than the new Nokia 7.

im finding myself drawn to the 8. I was all set for the 7 plus but keep thinking if I'm making the right decision.

How do you find the battery life on the 8? I like that device for the price but the 7 Plus looks like it will be a beast when it comes to the battery.

I routinely get about a day and a half out of a single charge but that depends on usage. As an example it's now on 57% with 1 day 7 hours left and has been off charge for 1 day 32 minutes.

For a flagship, the Nokia 8 has good battery life. I normally get around 4-5 hours of screen on time. Usually WhatsApp is the main battery drainer.

That's odd as I get over a day out of mine although I don't use it heavily so that might explain why.

Well this 4-5 hour screen on time is spread over around 12-14 hours of usage between each charge. My WhatsApp has 5 active groups so it is the main battery drainer.

If the 8 can get this much use out of its "standard" battery size, the 7+ should even be much better.

I'm definitely getting the Nokia 8 this week. We've been told to expect camera updates for it which is great news. Nokia 8(processor SD 835, screen resolution and price)vs Nokia 7 Plus (battery, screen size and a mini SD 821). Tbh there isn't that much difference in the speed tests I've seen so far though the Nokia 8 is always faster.

The Nokia 7 Plus is presently going for about $375 in my country as opposed to the original projection of$481. That makes it cheaper than the Nokia 8. That changes my assessment and leads me to pick it over the Nokia 8.
