My wife and I have the BB keyboard. In the upright position - keys are in fact nice and big..but the bottom right key....(the down arrow - pointing to the left) you would think is a return -or go to the next line key.....but NOOO it functions as "Send". So defeating the whole purpose of having bigger more user friendly keys, if one tries to type any key near that ..like delete/backspace, and just brush over that accidently, the mid-sentence message will get sent !!!!!!! any suggestions out there. Or is there a way to disable that key???

Thanks

Hi,

The built in messaging app that comes with Android phones has an odd design in that you can not introduce new lines in your message by hitting the Enter key. You can only type one long sentence.

Hitting the Enter key unfortunately sends your message, which we agree is inconvenient.

We hope the Android engineers will change this in the future to be more like other text message and email apps. I understand from our programmers that making the Enter key operate in a more traditional fashion is difficult if not impossible, which is why you will notice other keyboards have the same issue.

One solution would be to try one of the free messaging apps like "Handcent SMS" which not only is a nice app, it allows you to use the Enter key like most other apps.

We use Handcent here with no problems. -dev
