The delay is over: Android 7.1.1 for Nexus 6 coming Jan 2017.

Because they are slow to get updates out. 7.0 Came out how many months ago and it's still not on my device!

Verizon approved Nougat in October or November and also have approved the current build with the December security patch. Nexus 6 ota's can get screwed up if you swapped networks or had a build that was never approved by your network. I've heard of some folks having issues where they just stopped. I guess what I'm saying is I don't think Verizon is delaying your update. See below for Verizon's current approval for N6 OTA.

Which would apply to every N6 enrolled in the nougat beta program since none of the beta builds went through carrier testing. Do you have a source for this claim about unapproved builds?

I have a Verizon Nexus that I bought directly from them and it has never been on another network.

I'm not sure then. Verizon has approved the most current OTA. I do know that the Nexus 6 is notorious for random OTA purgatory. Here are some tricks that I can recall that some folks say fixed their stuck N6s. Remove sim, reboot, check for update is the easiest. Another is remove sim, factory reset, setup phone without sim then check for update. You'll loose all your stuff though.

It became so annoying that I don't even bother waiting on OTAs. I just download and sideload as soon as google post them.

I'm not saying I don't have the latest update, I don't have 7.0 at all. Which according to that link you posted, was first released in October.

If other people have received that OTA on Verizon, then something else is going on.

Oh, okay. So you just don't think this OTA michegas is anything new. I dunno. Neither of my phones ever gave me any grief about OTAs before they were enrolled in the beta program. I'm kicking myself now for getting greedy and enrolling both of em. It would've been nice to know if they behaved differently or not.

A little slow but working well
I also noticed my Nexus 9 is a little slow after January 2017 update

I just noticed this comment on Android Police:
"Once you get it, the new Google Camera and Google Phone apps become available in the Play Store too. Update-a-rama!"

That sounds like good news. Your slowness comment, not so good. Either way, I know what I'll be doing tonight.

I cleared the cache storage and it's much better now.

I downloaded and flashed the 7.1.1 image ,a little while ago so far so good :)
Afterwards removed it from beta testing.

I just downloaded it. Has anyone tried to use the support button for 24/7 phone or chat support?

I clicked on the chat(settings>support) but backed out since I don't have any issues to report :)

The chat option apparently doesn't work (just sends you to a help page). The call option tells you to submit your phone number and you'll get a callback (I didn't do it). The only other things I noticed is a new phone app and the camera has some new settings to it.

I wish wifi calling was there (I'm on Verizon) and night mode was in the update too
