The iPhone SE 2020 basically just killed the Pixel 4a and other value flagships...

Yea people are acting as if it is something new. I will say they did a good job with the price point though. Hell the 7 is almost 4 years old and it's the same price as the new model with only 32gb of space which is insane. They shouldn't released a plus version as well because most in that price range don't care about having the fastest processor. A lot of users want a big screen device for a reasonable price.
...I mean they did the cheap iPhone with the original SE. But yeah flagship phones weren't really $1000+ back then.

What this tells me with Apple and Google is manufacturers are starting realize prices are little too high last few years and they coming up these versions which are great .

I'm sure it's more Google realizing. LOL. Apple's SE is just that, Special Edition that's released after a few years.

Not sure where I read it but doesn't Samsung make the most on their midrange phones.

I believe your correct, I think their midrange makes the company most money.

l personally believe that there is a place for both phones. for Apple loves the new iPhone SE will be great for kids and people who can't afford an iPhone 11and the 4a for the android users who want a mid-level phone.

But you have to pick a side! You can't like everything. It can't be just fine!

I like the move... It's a good choice for many people,. Interested to see what the 4a brings too! Choices for everyone... And yes some of us like playing on both sides of the line

Make no mistake, this is NOTHING more than an iPhone 8 with a slightly faster chipset.

They couldn't even bump the battery capacity by an extra 200mAh or so.

It doesn't get more lazy than this.

Same was the pixel 3a and 3a xl without a powerful chip same design like the pixel 2 , the bottom line is these phones give great value without breaking the bank.

Yep. The single camera on the iPhone SE with the A13 Bionic will take amazing photos. It'll get software updates for 5 years. I mean, what Android phone can you get for $400 that has the best chipset, great camera, and that kind of software support?

This.
The latest processor means that it will get updates for at least 5 years. It also means the camera will perform much better than the iPhone 8. For those who don’t care about lack of bezels or the latest expensive bells and whistles this is an excellent buy.

you know, the thing about battery life, which apple has proven over and over again, is that only part of the story lies with the battery size. the 11 pro max is at roughly 3969mah, but that thing is the truth. theoretically, phones like the Note 9 and anything else with at least a 4000mah battery should stand toe to toe with it, but unless you're running an android with gimped performance (run at 60hz instead of 120hz) what makes a great battery is also efficiency, and as an android fan, it pains me to say that apple is definitely better in this department. i mean, android competes by throwing larger batteries in their phones, but apple applies the "work smarter, not harder" mantra, making their phones more efficient while running on smaller batteries. i am willing to bet that the iphone 9's battery performs as well as a pixel battery, which is pretty good.

Utter drivel. Camera on this thing will be the same old crappy 12mp - for the same money you can get a xiaomi note 10 pro - quad cam set up including telephoto, 108mp, ois and laser focus. According to dxmark ranking this mid range camera smashes the iPhone 11 pro scores let alone what you'll find on this handset. The iPhone 11 pro only just sneaks into the top 10 camera scores and will be out the top 10 by end of the year. Some flagship.
Its all very well saying the updates will go on 5 years - you'll have needed at least 2 new batteries and thanks to Mr built in obsolescence jobs it'll get slower with every update. The real kicker is no one keeps a phone that long. The only people using these old iPhone are teenagers that need to say they have an iPhone, and will shell out pocket money for an iPhone 6 or 6sbrather than spend the same on a brand new Chinese handset that wipes the floor with it.
In fact you can pick up huawei mate 10 pro, few years old but far superior camera set up with ois laser focus and leica lenses. The images off this thing are unreal, outperforms my nikon dslr most of the time.

I’m not sure you know much about the average consumer.

Come on Boon, you know that’s not true.
Slightly faster? It’s the best chip available right now, which means more efficient. Battery life will be fine. The people that use these aren’t phone nuts like us.

The iphone is also IP rated water resistant that surprised me at the price .
