The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: To all saying goodbye to the G3

Lets keep the discussion civil and trouble free folks. Everyone has a right to defend their purchase and praise or complain about it too but lets not take anything to a personal level or directed at any one individual.

Thanks.

Re: Verizon Bloat Removal

Root is great, but removing things without a recovery to reload from is risky just in case you remove the wrong thing. Just saying, root, freeze heck you can even disable them from view without root.

That said how much storage do you actually have once you remove clash of clans and another other removable crapware? I see in Phil's video review it was just over 23GB of space with just under 1GB of apps installed.

Why I think Lg got it right?

The way Lg have implemented a 5.5" into such a neat and tidy and need I say a very stylish form factor is a great feat.

They have thought it through in terms of remedying the rear buttons, upgrading the camera and tidying up the Ui.

The Welcome bonus of this Quad HD screen and removable battery and Micro SD slot are another thumbs up.

You have Htc with the One M8 and that is a very stylish and overall attractive package.

You have the Galaxy S5 which in some aspects a great product but in many others and IMO it was a let down from an otherwise respectable company.

For example the attempt from Samsung to tone down touchwiz was half hearted (like they didn't really want to).

HTC done a great job with their Ui in Sense 6 and a job well done.

However to now conclude as to why I think Lg got it right.

They looked at design and yes perhaps rushed the Qhd out there but such is the nature of business and maybe yes its pushing the 801 chip to the Maximum, I can't really tell as I hand on heart I am not experiencing anything that I put down as a complaint (minor lag) but its not now noticeable in that I have just one page of folders in my app drawer (eliminating scrolling). But as an overall package Camera, Quad HD screen, decent battery life, removable battery, and inclusion of the SD card slot.

Out of the iterations from the M7 to M8,

The S4 to the S5

And the G2 to the G3

Lg continued and built on the popularity of the G2 or maybe bad choice of words but the respect of the G2 in that all round it offered a lot in that package.

The Lg G3 does the same and they got in most part it right.

Of course there has been a few duds that unfortunately some have been inflicted of poor performance to poor auxiliary and connection problems.

I hope they have or get it resolved or at some point perhaps return and once again enjoy a fine product in the G3.

Or perhaps the attraction of the Note 4 is to much or Nexus 6 or the X+1. The oppo find 7 or the One plus one.

The android market it extensive and has a lot on offer.

But the G3 is up there as the take notice device as it fits this wonderful display into a neat package.

And all of the above is why I think Lg got it right.

I agree, kinda...

The Optimus G was a total sleeper phone that got little to no recognition. It was the ripples in the pond so to speak.

When LG put out the G2 it seemed they came at it with a fresh pair of eyes... Trying to be innovative in a somewhat stale market. I mean how much can you do with a 5" square

The back buttons for starters, such a simple thing but very intuitive. This turned out to be a love hate thing for the most part I think people took to it.

Knock on is brilliant and brings such ease to powering your phone on and off. As nice as it is though it seems to be a bit wonky on the G2

Then there's the outstanding battery life toppling most phones...

The G2 was in a bit slow but it picked up steam and has turned out to be very nice Phone indeed.

Now we have the G3. I think LG has again turned it up a notch. I love the screen and knock on has been much improved. The UI is somewhat cleaned up and the overall build is pretty impressive. The camera in natural and low light situations is the best I've used so far on a phone.

Yes we lost some battery life but mine still much outlasts my M7 so I'm not complaining.

All and all the G3 is a solid phone for me and I'm glad some fellow ambassadors encouraged me to take the plunge.

Re: Verizon Bloat Removal

Disabling and freezing is good to do for memory and battery life, but there's already a confirmed list of safe apps to remove so there's no downside!

Re: Why I think Lg got it right?

I used the Samsung S2,S3 & S4. I upgraded to the S5 when it was released and returned it the next morning. It was boring, not worth the upgrade, the size is bulky compared to the S4! I hated the new TouchWiz! And I'm glad I did, the G3 is a totally different experience! I miss a couple S4 options, but I can live without! The best part was my wife, she is happy with the S4, but when I came home with the G3, we ended up going back and getting her a white G3 & she lives it more than the S4!

A big step up and yes you will notice significant differences for the better over the S3.

Glad you and now your wife are enjoying the G3.

Its one very well designed product :-)

I went back to my m8. I loved g3 except for battery life. No battery makes it all useless

Re: To all saying goodbye to the G3

I have no problems with mine, I'm just undecided on whether or not to return it and wait the 6 weeks to see what the note 4 looks like. If I'm not a fan I'll just pick up the G3 again.

Re: To all saying goodbye to the G3

It depends. If I see enough people complaining about the exact same issue I start to take them seriously like the nexus 7 touchscreen defect was real. Seen a few so far here talking about the headphone jack, so we'll see how that progresses as more G3s are sold.

As far as the AUX issues people are talking about.

From what I gather, the G3 is very sensitive to cheap cables. Many people have said trying a better quality AUX cable usually fixes it.

Re: Sum up the G3 in one word.

Large (And that is definitely not what she said).

Re: Camera is very decent :-)

Is this the area you live in? Not for you then the suburban and urban streets with dust, litter, spit, phlegm, the stinking noisy cars everywhere, ugliness almost wherever you look, stunted trees and polluted plants trying to grow as best they can in odd corners, pigeons with diseased feet dragging strands of filthy plastic twine caught round their legs, graffiti-defaced buildings and railway carriages, cheap restaurants assaulting the nostrils with pungent aromas, shops with infernal music playing so loud you can physically feel it....and the only good thing left the sky above your head which so often goes unnoticed?

Yes, a good camera and thanks for the photos!
