I'll understand perfectly if you prefer not to say, but could you narrow down what area of Scotland? East, West, Western Isles, Orkneys, Shetlands...

Ah, I see...guillemots, razorbills, puffins, fulmars, skuas, the cry of the Great Northern Diver? Whether those things or not, looks a good place to be judging by your photos.

G3 is beset with performance issues. Ergonomics and comfort are fine. But there are too many complaints of performance problems. Dull, washed out looking screen. Poor outside visibility. Fast battery drain. Overheating to the point that a pop up box appears on the screen. Device lowers brightness automatically when it gets hot. Apps hesitate to open. Stuttering when scrolling. The way Lg have implemented a 5.5" into such a neat and tidy and need I say a very stylish form factor is a great feat.
They have thought it through in terms of remedying the rear buttons, upgrading the camera and tidying up the Ui.
The Welcome bonus of this Quad HD screen and removable battery and Micro SD slot are another thumbs up.
You have Htc with the One M8 and that is a very stylish and overall attractive package.
You have the Galaxy S5 which in some aspects a great product but in many others and IMO it was a let down from an otherwise respectable company.
For example the attempt from Samsung to tone down touchwiz was half hearted (like they didn't really want to).
HTC done a great job with their Ui in Sense 6 and a job well done.
However to now conclude as to why I think Lg got it right.
They looked at design and yes perhaps rushed the Qhd out there but such is the nature of business and maybe yes its pushing the 801 chip to the Maximum, I can't really tell as I hand on heart I am not experiencing anything that I put down as a complaint (minor lag) but its not now noticeable in that I have just one page of folders in my app drawer (eliminating scrolling). But as an overall package Camera, Quad HD screen, decent battery life, removable battery, and inclusion of the SD card slot.
Out of the iterations from the M7 to M8,
The S4 to the S5
And the G2 to the G3
Lg continued and built on the popularity of the G2 or maybe bad choice of words but the respect of the G2 in that all round it offered a lot in that package.
The Lg G3 does the same and they got in most part it right.
Of course there has been a few duds that unfortunately some have been inflicted of poor performance to poor auxiliary and connection problems.
I hope they have or get it resolved or at some point perhaps return and once again enjoy a fine product in the G3.
Or perhaps the attraction of the Note 4 is to much or Nexus 6 or the X+1. The oppo find 7 or the One plus one.
The android market it extensive and has a lot on offer.
But the G3 is up there as the take notice device as it fits this wonderful display into a neat package.
And all of the above is why I think Lg got it right.

LG has moved backwards from the G2. The only 2 things the G3 has over the G2 is a better battery cover and a slightly bigger screen, and that's subjective. The G2 is a smooth performer and a battery champ.
G3's overall performance is a disappointment.
At the end of the day, performance trumps pretty.

Thank you for you post, I've been trying get the correct wording. You nailed it. The majority of LG G3 owners are very satisfied with it Me included. What everyone is seeing is threads and posts from a very few, rather vocal minority from those who have had a concern that has gotten blown all out of proportion and over-exaggerated to the point that anyone looking into getting the G3 is incorrectly sent in another direction.
With any mass produced item, the occasional "bad apple" is bound to slip through.
Most everyone who had a concern was happy once they switched out the unit for another one.
Some just returned it and that is OK. You can't please everyone.
Just my $.02
I am VERY happy with my G3.
