The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

The only thing that would make me even consider a Note 4 is Band 12 support. And that might still not trump TouchWIZ.

re:

I have ordered a new one just in case with the G watch, which means I can't by the Note 4 upon release.

Tried the Lg flash tool but can't get passed the user name and password oh and product key it asks for grrrr.

My G3 is fixable with the flashing of firmware but if I can't get Lg's flash tool to work that is a big issue lol

Edit-Cheers I hope so to, I'm persistent so no doubt I will :-)

There's a file you need to replace in order to use the LG Flash Tool. Can't remember it off the top of my head, though.

Edit: You have to replace the MegaLock.dll file in the installation folder with the MegaLock.dll file included in the LG Flash Tool download. That should get you past the user/pass prompt.

A bit premature considering that the Note 4 has yet to be released. To finitely make a decision without seeing, holding, operating, etc., again very premature. I would not bet $5.00 on a leaked pic or specs......they may be spot on but a this point none us really know.

Since when has that stopped anyone? ;)

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

Whereas I always assumed a hard home button was necessary, now that I have the had G3 awhile I can see it is plainly not the case. I have a friend who's hard button is malfuntioning. Exterior side SD card slots are unsightly and plainly stupid since once you install a 64 or 129 GB card you are likely never to touch the card again. The side buttons of my previous Galaxy S3 were clumsy in comparison. The elegant design and knock on/off code of my G3 is a pleasure. I do no heavy gaming so I know I will not envy the speed bumps of newer phones like the Note 4. The G3 is plenty loud, screen contrast can be adjusted in Accessibility and the thin bezel is like nothing I've ever seen on any phone. IMO other than the lack of front facing speakers, i.e. M8, LG has created the very best innovative structural design around, and it looks like no other phone will come close. I am still delighted with it and am definitely keeping it.

Was a nice thread found on XDA that had all files and a working version of LG Flash tool and to cut a long story short.

I have a working G3 again Wooohooo.

But yes I eventually found info on that what your on about.

But Thanks all for your kind help, in providing info, as I said I'm persistent and it paid off :-)

Won't be doing that again lol

re:

Are you returning the other G3 that you've ordered.

Yes cancelled my order, was a panic buy thinking I possibly wouldn't be able to rectify the situation myself.

Although I'm no tech expert, I don't quit until I get my way lol

Once I got past the minor complications its no harder than Samsung's to flash the original firmware.

Now to root and get it set up the way I had it before lol

Hours of fun ahead :-P

Thanks Again folks much appreciated :-)

re:

The app that caused the issue was Android Tweaker 2.

If you decide to use, proceed with caution lol

Very glad you fixed it. ☺

re:

You haven't lived until you accidentally overwrite your bootloader with a kernel from another model phone.

Haha yeah haven't quite done that Leorex lol

But this is not my first time softbricking done it with my Note 3 (that was easier to resolve lol )

Glad to have my G3 back in action although now I was curious with the recent updates (now on v10g) and all root methods failed. Last one to try is purpledrake which I will check out tomorrow :-)
