The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: Settings & Dialer

The G3 tweakbox 1.3 beta is now available and it allows you to do this...

Its still limited and I had to install the cobalt theme. I prefer the android L notification & toggles so I switched back but keeping the settings & dialer....

I'm sure more themes will become available and its a great addition.

Devs are busy :-)

That dialer looks ugly, good new feature though.

Re: The Sharp Aquos Crystal - LG may have competition!

I would agree. Mid-range specs for sure. I do like the look of the phone, but would of like better guts.

I the device performed just as good as the high spec'd devices would it matter? I think it's all about how the device functions rather than going alone with high end specs.

Re: Settings & Dialer

I've got the xposed and the new tweaksbox beta installed, If you don't mind me asking, how do I get that theme?

Remember when deleting the files in priv.app to back them up to your external SD card.

Copy and paste the downloaded files to priv.app and change permissions of each file via root browser (you'll need this, or another root search app) to rw-r-r.

I never realised also that you have to delete the odex files off each apk and also back these up.

The phone hasn't been out that long and it's super quick, why the hell are you trying to use "tweaking apps to boost the phones performance"?

Whats wrong with the stock performance?

What... you didn't?! There's always MOAR... heh.... but those tweaking apps are a devil in disguise. I mean, people see a checkbox or a number in an application and new users can be easily lulled into a false sense of security and think "How much damage can one setting possibly do?" Then they proceed to undervolt their CPU by 300mv and set it to apply on boot.

Nothing beats the thrill of the first time you REALLY bork your phone and have no idea how to fix it... :) But I learned quite early on that no matter how stupid a muck up I did, there was another equally hamfisted yahoo out there that did the exact same thing. It is quite hard to permabrick a modern phone.... I know, I sure as hell have tried. The piece de resistance I alluded to earlier? I had kept hearing good things about the Hellscore kernel for the Nexus 5 and I downloaded the HC kernel management app while I was looking around for the flashable zip. "Nice....", I thought, "the tool will flash the kernel for me." Little did I realize that (and the app didn't warn) the kernel it was going to flash was the Nexus 4 kernel... and it just so happens that the partition that houses the Nexus 4's kernel is where the Nexus 5 keeps its bootloader.

Oh, what fun times I had that day... let me tell you.

Long story short, the Nexus 5 actually has a backup bootloader that you can access with the right button combo... without that, I would have been SOL.

Re: The Sharp Aquos Crystal - LG may have competition!

Valid point, my friend. I have a dual core and lower end specs on my blackberry. It performs excellent.

Thanks for bringing me back to earth.

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

More pixels is not always better, for both screens and cameras. That was my experience with the g3 as well. Text looked awful and the graphic performance was not good either due to the snapdragon 801 really being under powered for that resolution.

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

Just found out the trade in value of the G3 is only $140 at T-Mobile. My wife is looking to leave sprint so i also asked about the trade-in value on her S4, $154. Really?

Touchwiz is ugly.. Coming from tons of Galaxy S phones.. I absolutely prefer LG 's UI.

You can do way better on eBay than that

I don't know if I would want a phone bigger than the G3. I'll definitely check it out though..

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

I don't understand why wouldn't anyone not go to note 4. Especially putting up with dull screen of g3. Samsung series always had vibrant screens and now with quad processor, I can't wait to jump over.

Now that the Edge has been delayed up here, the Note 4 will have to tie me over.

Why would Samsung allow less expandable memory than on the N3? They seem to be headed down the Apple path: less performance upgrades, more gimmicks...except they're doing it with a terrible UI. Nah...I have "converted" to LG, and I'm happy here.
