Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

Keeping my g3. I prefer the g3 screen. Was also getting tired of touchwiz.

(I've just looked at the date on the receipt Duncs...just over two months for me. It really IS a long time ago.)

Re: LG G3 Turn Back Time (this is not a cher thread lol)

At this point after years of ripping into the guts of my phones, I view boot loops like fc's...just a sign that I screwed something up that I have to fix...no worries.

Re: LG G3 Turn Back Time (this is not a cher thread lol)

I remember my first G3. I put a rechargeable circle case on it and loved the way it charged. I loved that phone. I adored the exterior design. Fond memories until I picked it up off the floor after a mere 3.5 foot drop. Imagine my gut wrenching disappointment as I picked it up and noticed the cracked display corner and scratches all along the screen surface. The case I was so fond of just did not have the protection I thought it did. I sold both the case and phone on Craig's list. Then I went and bought another G3 for $580 at an AT&T store. My only regret now is that I see the wireless recharge type is PMA and not Qi so until there is a different wireless charging case I'm in limbo. I'll never buy another Circle case but I have a nice case on my present G3 and I'm happy with it.
Hold everything. I dropped my present G3 AGAIN and completely shattered the screen at a Wall Mart department store. I just stood there with the phone in my hands, examining the way the shattered display was hanging by it's thin wires, separated from the case, wondering if I would ever buy a 3rd G3. Then I woke up from that nightmare, breathed a sigh of relief that it was just a dream and asked myself if it ever really happened again, with the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus just around the corner, would I actually buy another G3. The answer was yes.
So goes my true story of turning back the hands of time.

I threw this thread in here for my goal of a bit of lame amusement and some pretty lame fun lol

I like leorex also see bootloops as in terms of Fc's, bit annoying when it happens but really easy to fix.

Glad some are having a bit of lighthearted fun with the thread :-P

No doubt, I have multiple pairs of very good headphones. For anyone into qualiy headphones - HiFiMAN HE-400's (modded grills, pads, etc.) along with a Schiit Magni + Modi amp and dac (my main listening set up on the PC). Audio Technica ATH M50's, Audio Technica ATH A900X's, Audeo PFE012 in ear monitors. Fiio E17 portable headphone amp/dac, etc. Headphones are a bit of a hobby for me...

Any headphones that came with the G3 would certainly go into a drawer, was just surprised that none shipped with it. Probably the first phone I've ever purchased that didn't come with any.

Some seriously good headphones there and good to see no dre beats? Lol

I have a few cheap pairs, but quite recently purchased the RHA750's and I am very very impressed with both the build and sound quality :-)

I want to take you back to a time, a time of great excitement and anticipation. That's right folks the wait for Mr Delivery guy to hand over your new G3.

You sign the electronic device with a line and a dot, quickly shut the door with a cheers and see you again in a few months perhaps. You walk into your unboxing spot and quickly rip of the exterior packaging. There is the box LG G3 oh yes its here. But you hesitate and look around the box checking the specs but this is just part of not rushing as you already know. You place the box down but thinking should I read one more time? Nah you just brake the seal and slowly lift the lid and there it is looking you in the face your new G3. You lift have a quick look and place it to one side while you check what else is in the box (charger,USB cable & quadbeat headphones, literature, battery). Now comes the looking at the G3 and being quite impressed and with me amazed at the build, pealing off the plastic and again one more look around delaying the placement of that battery just for a bit. The battery goes in the excitement builds and booom you hit the power button and on comes the QHD display...going through the start up and installing apps. The G3 is setup and dam its good...you have it just so for a bit but then scratch your head and think oh yes there is root. So you root and tweak and bootloop here, setup again and bootloop once again, setup again and say I'm not doing that for a 3rd time lol

Just prior to root and as you setup you just can't resist a quick review or two on AC...

You then relax with your new device and enjoy the G3 experience...

The End..

Never looking back. This thing is Beauty and the Beast rolled into one! I wouldn't trade my g3 for any phone out there.

Re: LG G3 Turn Back Time (this is not a cher thread lol)

Oh, I wish I could turn back time.... :) To about a week after I got my G3. The fam came to the office for a lunch visit when they were nearby... we had a nice picnic and were leaving... As I was helping the runts into their seats, I caught the bottom of my G3 with the seatbelt and it launched out of my shirt pocket.... All I heard was the sound of an extremely expensive smartphone bouncing, then sliding, on asphalt.

What a horrid sound....

So I look over with one eye closed at the carnage.... I got lucky.... 3 of the 4 corners got slight dings and a tiny scuff on the back plate. So that sucker took straight on hits on three corners as it pinwheeled across the parking lot, then slide on its backside (thank god) for a few feet without any realy damage.

So yeah, I'd love to go back and pop it into my shorts that afternoon.

Re: LG G3 Turn Back Time (this is not a cher thread lol)

Duncan, Can you tell us what it was you did to get the boot loop???
That way other G3 owners can avoid that problem.

Re: New Camera app Xda

I wonder if this can be combined with the camera mod?
I will head over to XDA and ask him.
Seems like this is a separate camera app and additional donation app to add extra setting to his Xcam app.

This is exactly that and I have the camera mod so to answer your question....its a yes :-)

Re: New Camera app Xda

You will need to install the Xcam app and donation is optional but I would pay the little in support and it does off a few extra settings namely shutter speeds :-)

The thing I can't decipher as I installed the camera mod prior to Xcam release. So the mod will be applied to stock camera app? Xcam is like a 3rd party app (separate from stock) so will it apply? As its a system thing I had to change I'm sure it will.

No Beats here...no thanks. Beats are like the iPhones of the headphone market - over priced **** :)

Re: The Sharp Aquos Crystal - LG may have competition!

I would agree. Mid-range specs for sure. I do like the look of the phone, but would of like better guts.

Settings & Dialer

The G3 tweakbox 1.3 beta is now available and it allows you to do this...

Its still limited and I had to install the cobalt theme. I prefer the android L notification & toggles so I switched back but keeping the settings & dialer....

I'm sure more themes will become available and its a great addition.

Devs are busy :-)
