i returned mine for a m8 last week. was tired of the overheating, lag, low ram and reboots. its a shame as the g2 was a beast.

I like the size and feel of the G3 it's still a one hand phone where the note 3 wasn't. I will check out the note 4 but it looks like the form is the same. I also had the M8 no lag but slow also awkward in hand and The speakers (which I didn't need) kill the screen size.

Yea, I was a little nervous rooting my G3, not that actual root part but the recovery I heard was not the most stable. Rooted anyway to install Greenify and G3 tweakbox, which by the way is a great little program that makes the G3 your own. So far no lockups or reboots and running very smooth.

Before I was a Note 3 owner, I owned an IPhone 5. This was after a horrible experience with the Samsung S3 and vowed never to leave Apple ever again. I bought the Note 3 in December and the device is nice but its almost too big. Its cumbersome to take pictures but its cool to view You Tube videos and such on it.
Now I am on the fence between the Note 4, G3 and the M8. I have it sort of nailed down to the G3 and Note 4. Not sure that the Super AMOLED display is a big deal to me. Samsung has some cool extras on that device that I do not use. I find the UI on the G3 much easier to use than the Note3. I also like the look and feel of the G3 and the controls on the back of the phone. I do not think that I will go with the Note this time around. Also, now that I am on the Verizon Edge program its only a 10 month commitment so, if I do not like it, then I can dump it quick. That is what helped motivate me to get the Note 3 figuring if I would have regretted the Note 3, I could dump it quick.

Completely agree with the OP. Went a bit overboard after rooting my G3. Cant remember what i did but it bricked. Cpuld not even flash back to stock. Screen wouldnt go past the LG boot screen. Followed all directions here. After flashing the root was gone but thatbwas it. Took it to the TMO store and they accepted it as defective. Not sure how they determined that or what happened. But the new one is on its way.

LG G3 ooops I did it again lol
G3 soft bricked trying to change the audio values.
I honestly didn't think this would effect the boot process but turns out yes it does lol
So the joys of reflashing the firmware & re-rooting and setting it up.
So glad I have my Z2 handy lol

Haha post it over lol its relatively easy, but re-rooting is a pain as purpledrake is .tar and sometimes 7zip is feckless and doesn't do what its supposed to..
I will get it back to my liking...and this time I'm just going to leave it. This is my 3rd time grrr. But my own fault

I don't mind the phone being rooted as much as the long delay that rooting it caused. When I hit the home button there is a long delay before it goes back to the home screen.
