The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

That Galaxy F/S5 Prime thing...i don't know; could be a Korea or Asia only release. The US variants, if there will be ones, haven't passed through the FCC yet. I was thinking about the Galaxy F as well..but the G3 just looks a lot better.

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

Please explain. I have been waiting on the G3 and Z2 as possible replacements for my DNA. I'm interested in what you didn't care for with the Z2.

I actually just sold my Z2 about a half hour ago and then saw your question. I think the Z2 just didn't live up to the hype especially with the camera. It had some fun, gimmicky effects which used once or twice, I never visited again. There were just too many horribly bad photos from such a highly touted camera. The last time I got photos that bad were with an HTC One and I got rid of that one fast also. I can't explain it, but while a lot of pics came out fine, there were too many that were a hot mess and I got tired of rolling the dice on memories I wanted to record. The call quality was also terrible. It was almost impossible to hear a caller with any amount of street noise present. The phone seemed to have a very tenuous data connection. I was constantly doing soft resets to re-enable data. Too many annoyances to make me want to use the phone. It sat in its box for a couple of weeks even before I sold it and I was back to using my G2. The last thing is just my personal idiosyncrasy in that I was too afraid of dropping it to make daily use a pleasurable experience. I'm looking forward to the G3, but it had better be a significant improvement over the G2 for me to bother.

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

I really think I might go for it and sell my Note 3, but only if the 3gb/32 is available on AT&T.

Wait Wait Wait

I have just read that there might be a a G3 variant oh yes and one that has the Snapdragon 805 soc and Andreno 420 Gpu.

This might be a pinch of salt moment.

What do you all think?

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

Just saw the post - LG G3 up for pre-order for £479 in the UK | Android Central

Is it reasonable to expect that a straight currency conversion would yield a rough estimate at the UK phone? If the 16gb is going for over $800 I'll be hard pressed since the Galaxy 5 is 660 at TMobile. Plus, the last I read (fwiw) was that TMo would get the 3gb version which I would assume will be additional dollars.

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

Interesting, since a lot of the tech media reviews I've read (using a non-optimized Korean version in most cases) say the battery life is excellent. Reading some of the later posts in that XDA thread, it looks like a heaping of theorycrafters mixed in with someone posting results from a Korean review (and who seems to be of the opinion that the screen is a bad battery drain), someone who says they have great battery life with a Korean model on AT&T, and some guy claiming he's only getting 4 hours of on-screen time.

In other words, typical cross section of Internet opinion. :p

I'll reserve judgment for when US and EU carriers can test native versions of the phone.

Well, plenty of users for the Note 3 and S5 have claimed they somehow get only three hours of screen time on them. Seen fewer such reports for the M8. Seen zero such reports for my G Flex :3 720p and a screen with true blacks will do that I guess. Currently 48 hours runtime with almost six hours of screen time.

Judging from other devices, true web browsing on media rich sites will be the main destroyer of performance and battery at such hi rez.

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

Yeah, Ars Technica pretty much hammered the G3 for what they felt was suboptimal battery life due to the screen, although they did say the phone is a standby champ.

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

Definitely, if I can get my hands on the international 32gb version.

Via a cool AC App on a great Nexus 4

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

LG L3 is the most awesome phone, spec-wise. It will top what OPO is calling its 'flagship' killer. just hope i can afford it!:-!

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

If Verizon releases the 3/32 version and doesn't change the physical dimensions of the phone like they did the G2, if all that is true and its $599 I'll be picking one up.

Re: So who will be purchasing the G3?

Sounds like an isolated issue only happening to a few users I have a verizon G2 with Kit Kat and 0 issues with using it no different then any other issues with other phones some will have issues others will not

Well, I bought a G2 (verizon) off of Swappa and I'm having the Google Play Music error.

Do you use the Google Play Music All Access streaming service (the pay service)?

Maybe you are just lucky, or you are not using the pay streaming service, cause this definitely happens and it is a big issue across multiple LG devices on KitKat.

LG G3 Google L Keyboard

Re: Google L Keyboard

Cool, got it now. Must admit, I was a little concerned when it mentioned that it may pass on information about passwords etc....
