Having to swipe makes it a two handed thing, instead of one. This makes Samsung's implementation less convenient IMO.

If WP had 1 million apps in their store, they still would not be able to compete with Android and iOS. Apps are not their problem.I'm late to this thread, but to respond to the OP's title, I think the smartphone industry is starting to get interesting. Android is refined now. Apple is flirting with different screen sizes. Windows Phone is about four apps away from me giving it a legitimate shot. BlackBerry seems to be out if the game but I'm hoping for a comeback.
Because Apple never copies anyone, right? It certainly didn't surprise me, since Apple had it. 64-bit won't be far behind.

I don't think it would be for most people. And I am a huge Microsoft fanboy on the desktop side.It is for me.
It is for me. I like a lot of things about their operating system and would get the 1520 in a heartbeat if some key apps I needed were there.

WP's problem is that it is not offering anything new or different. Android already does everything it does. And Apple's closed system benefits are better because Apple is better at the closed system. WP is the worst of both worlds. More apps is just putting a bandaid on a hatchet wound.

I had the 1520 for a week. Nice phone but the lack of several key apps AND the fact that trying to use the web browser to mitigate the lack of apps didn't work...I just couldn't live with it. However, that was one beautiful piece of hardware with a delicious screen.

Which Android phone lockscreens look like that? This is an iPhone 4 lockscreen. Who copied who?
LOL! You people do not even attempt to deny Apple copies anymore. Success. And Android copied multitasking from Palm OS.

That appears to be a tacit admission that you have no actual examples.Clock and slide to unlock. Pretty much every Android.

Methinks you're new to the internet if you thinks that.Me thinks you invented these myths, maybe?
