The next Samsung Galaxy Note

The Samsung Galaxy S3 was just officially announced and I must say that I am not impressed, Truthfully, I would still rather have a Galaxy Note. But just as, according to at least one Samsung official, the Galaxy Note was the "successor" to the Galaxy S2, I am hoping that the next Galaxy Note (the Note 2?) is the "successor" to the Galaxy S3. With that, here is my wish list for the next Galaxy Note, based on the current AT&T Galaxy Note:

1) Samsung Exynos 5250
1a) If the Samsung 5250 will not support LTE (doubtful, but still ...), then I would prefer settle for the Qualcomm 8960 Pro
4) 2 Gbytes of RAM
5) 64 GBytes of built-in memory
6) Official support for microSDXC cards
7) a dedicated hardware camera button
8) Move the power on button to the top

And from the Samsung Galaxy S3, I would like:

1) "S Voice"
2) NFC Support, including " S Beam"
3) The improved camera, including "Smart Stay"
4) Bluetooth 4.0
5) Wireless charging

Oh, and of course it should be running Ice Cream Sandwich. That is, if Jelly Bean is not available.

Just curious about others' wish lists.

Your list is pretty extensive, and it's hard to add anything further.

I like the note just as it is, except I would like to see the projector capabilities of the Galaxy Beam included into the Note.

If Sammy could add this one feature for me, and maintain the sleek form factor this first model has, I'd be so happy.

As a business professional that one feature alone would really make my day. I realize such a feature would be a serious drain on the battery, but in the few instances I would use it I would simply plug it in.

I wouldn't run a normal projector using batteries so trying to power the projector of the Note using the battery seems ridiculous.

There is nothing they can add in the galaxy note 2 that will make me upgrade early. The current note fulfils all my needs. As with the galaxy s3 upgrades will be minor.

I hear what you're saying. The screen size alone of the G-Note seals the deal for me, and makes any other phone just interesting reading, because I cannot use anything smaller.

I'm looking forward to ICS, but mostly I'm interested in the new Premium Suite of apps Sammy has cooked up for the Note.

I still believe the G-Note is the best, and only, true all in one device on the market.

Everything OP said but also, I'd like to see the same screen size in a smaller overall unit. Shorten the bezel and/or add on screen buttons.

I'd also like to see:
bigger battery
Notification led
Better s pen input
More dedicated s pen apps
And better camera and/or cam software

Besides what has been mentioned above I would like the s pen be able to use the bottom buttons as well. If they keep the screen size the same but reduce the bezel then I see more folks going for it. The same goes for branding. I would place the carrier and manufacturer names from the front and place then on the rear this way the phone won't be so tall. With a shorter phone and a less width phone but same screen I think it will be a knockout

Regardless of what the next note has to offer i won't upgrade. I've used a new phone every year for the past 7 years. Its a waste of money. I will use my note till my contract ends. These phones have everything now, the upgrades will be marginal and not a must have.

I definitely understand the sentiment. Indeed, until the "Note 2" comes out, I still think the Note is the best thing out there and I don't see anything better on the horizon. The only thing I see close to it on the market is the Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE -- not the HTC One X but the Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE with its removable battery, microSDHC card and larger battery -- and technically the Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE isn't even out yet. Plus, the Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE is on Sprint, which has terrible phone coverage in my area and non-existent LTE coverage.

I even like the Note better than the S3. Indeed, that's why I started this thread. There simply isn't anything I would rather have at the moment. Or in the foreseeable future.

Agreed.

It is very interesting all the new smartphones that are released, and/or are about to be released, but I just keep coming back to the Note.

In fact, I see all the new tablets coming out and I used to get so excited about them too, but the Note makes owning even a tablet hard to justify the expense right now.

This is probably the first device in a long time that I can honestly say I can see myself owning for a long time to come.

Galaxy Note! Phone. Tablet. Planner. Notepad. eReader. The only device I need!

Hey does the NO LED app work on the GNote?

Yes it does. It had a couple of issues for awhile but the last update seems to have fixed them.

I like it. I don't really kind not having a LED light anymore. S it would be nice, but I like NoLed for all the features and options it has. And in some ways I like it better

You know what feature i would love. The camera to be upgraded to operate like the HTC One X.
