The Nexus 6 isn't as big as you guys think.!

My only concern with a phone this big is will it fit in my pants pocket?

This is the question/concern that confuses me most. What kind of pants are people wearing that this is an issue? My Note 2 doesn't come anywhere close to being too big for my pockets.

Probably them ultra skinny pants which restrict blood flow, they usually have smaller pockets than the standard straight fit jeans

I'll be buying one. This will save me money on buying a new phone AND a new tablet.

Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Where i work, for security reasons phones are banned when on the plant floor. I do however have my Moto G with me, but would be worried about getting away with the Nexus 6.

Maybe just leave the nexus at home...

5.9" is big anyway you look at it! 5.5" is smaller! Plus it will have the Moto X form factor too! So I not sure if it feels like a 5.7" size??? But it definitely not a 5.5" feel!

Too big for me! 5" would have been perfect! Not sure what Google is thinking here! It they wanted to make it bigger; they should have gone to 5.5"

screens bigger than 5" is hard to handle with only one hand and looks not safe, the size of s5 looks perfect to me, anyway it is a tendency to have 5,5" or bigger

So i guess that if i want to know what a Nexus 6 feels like in the hand, i should go grab a Note 4, just to get an idea?:p

its not the size that bothers me. its the fact i despise the motox 2014 design. so ill be passing.

Lots of people love the Note series of phones. The iPhone 6+ is hugely popular.

What is the big deal about a 5.9" screen in a body that is slightly bigger than a Note 4? I think the concerns about the screen size are hugely overblown and the phone will be a huge success.

Unless its on every carrier it won't be a "huge" success. Most non tech people do not even know what a nexus is or "why" they should choose it over another device. Google doesn't care enough about the nexus line, hence the lack of marketing for it.

Well there is always the smaller droid turbo with its 5.2" and same specs for those who want a high end smaller phone. Yes the droid is only on verizon but rumors of a gsm version for att and tmo

Is that a Nexus 6 in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?

Seiously, I have the N4, and my wife has the Note 3, and I have "screenus envy". I too look at my device as a small computer that makes calls. And you can make a call with one hand (I just tell either phone who to call and google does it.) Anything oher than calls isnt legal while driving anyway, mount or not (in most states).

I cant wait, and just hope the screen is as gorgeous as hers (really the prettiest screen ever, I dont care how accurate it is, its a joy to look at.

There will always be great smaller phones, let us who want a great phablet at least have a shot at a Nexus.

Yes, success means similar sales to previous Nexii. The Nexus line has a very loyal following and those people will still buy it. For those turned off by the size, there are other options. Casual buyers won't care either way.

No, their target market is not the likes of you.

What is puzzling is that we don't have more manufacturers trying to meet the needs of consumers who want a flagship phone in a smaller size.

Honestly, what choices do we have? We could recommend the Nexus 5, but it's not the latest device on the market. I guess we could also suggest the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, but that's not stock Android.

I actually like the idea of a bigger phone, but I realize that other people have different preferences. I just don't understand why manufacturers don't feel the same way.

Perhaps Project Ara is the answer, but we'll have to wait until 2015 for that.
Honestly the Nexus 5 is still almost state of the art. With a 30% better battery life under L (I'll believe it when I experience it) there's no reason for them to discontinue it as the "smaller" option...

True.. but Sprint has End of Life'd it already. Google is unlikely to sell the 5 and the 6 (X) at the same time. I Personally wish they would sell a small version (even an updated 5) and the 6 (X) but think it unlikely.

I am debating grabbing a new 5 instead of the Z3C to have a smallish phone to replace my N4 but the Z3C battery is supposed to be great. Only issue is the canadian Z3C price is predicted to be $599 compared to $399 for the N5. Must decide by Wednesday I think.

Sigh.

Driving and using phone in the other hand is not safe, get a car mount, and I only touch the phone at the red light while driving.
