The Note 7 Battery life Thread

I should have said 'scanning for devices'. But nevertheless, I'm on Sprint, I don't know what variant you have, your settings may be different.

Huh? There's no setting I can see called Connections.

Weak signal areas alone can impact battery life by up to about 40%. That is a lot of weight for variability. Especially if apps are using data in the background, no matter how slight.

After a few days, the battery life seems to greatly improve. I also disabled KNOX with Package Disabler Pro and my Android System usage dropped by 10%, from the upper 20s/low 30s to high teens and low 20s.

The packages I disabled were "KNOX" and "KnoxAppsUpdateAgent."

I turned off wifi scanning, that's a big one. BT is off unless I'm using it. Location is off when I'm home. I use package disabler pro and disabled a bunch of Sprint and Samsung stuff like the health tracker, Gear apps and Fipboard. Sync is on for Google apps but no sync for FB or Twitter.

This is all of the exact same stuff I did for the Note 5 in order to get 2.5 hours of SoT. I couldn't understand how people were getting 5 hours SoT with the Note 5, and I even FDR that phone. I haven't had to do that with this one.

2.5 hrs with note 5? Seriously? On note 5's worst days it gives 4 hrs of SOT.. min 3.5 hrs.. #Surprised

All features on. 4 Gmail accounts set to push. Connected to my Gear Fit2 all day. Facebook quite a bit, Android Central app for forums, Tapatalk, clash royale, hungry shark world and some other games plus some shopping on chrome and Amazon app and other normal everyday stuff.

Absolutely true. And I did 2 FDR, nothing helped. The reason I decided to take a chance was because of the positive posts that everyone was posting about great battery life despite the 3k battery. I never got more that 3.5 hours at best, at the time I turned it back in this week, it was down to 2.5 hours. I had no qualms about returning it and I keep all of my phones but it wasn't worth paying $475 to keep it. #Disappointed

Mine is getting better every day i have s-pay ,blue light filter, AOD with image clock and sync all active constantly..i have nfc Bluetooth, wifi and location off..all bloat disabled here's my results..no FOR.

KInd of interesting that battery life is calculated by average of last several days usage rate... Guess that means that it takes a few days for the battery life to completely show a change in power usage settings?

It's weird.... first week it seemed like I burned through more battery but I chalk that up to trying out all sorts of apps and getting a feel for the device since it's my first Note. Since then I've factory reset the phone to clear out all the remnants and start fresh. Pretty good since then. I've been on the commuter for the past hour browsing the forums and blasting my music through Bluetooth headphones. I'm still at 90%.
