The Note 7 Battery life Thread

For some reason my battery life is draining fast and charging takes forever. When I got to work my battery was at 100%, that was about 5 hours ago. I haven't used my phone at all except for one, 2 minute phone call and the battery is now at 47%?? What is up with that?? Also, I noticed last night it took forever to charge (I have a wireless charger and have the phone set up for fast charge - or whatever it is called). Any thoughts? TIA!

It would help if you gave a screenshot of your battery usage. You can also try a factory data reset.

You're battery is miraculous. Mine lasts half the time.
Trust me, it hasn't been all roses. When Android system decides to run wild, I'm lucky to get half that.

However, I've either figured something out or just been lucky 4 days in a row but when I charge the phone to 100% , the first thing I do after taking it off the charger is restart the phone. Since I started doing that, I haven't had a single problem with Android system.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it as well and report to you...
I'm in the plane right now, 8 hours flight browsing from go-go in-flight but with my phone on airplane mode. My 4g definitely drains my battery. Cause right now without it it's a beast!!!

Same thing for me. It's a shame we have to restart the phone to have decent screen on time.

I got a notification last night that one app was hogging the battery asked me if I wanted to disable ,then showed me battery time left pretty cool

Something strange did happen with my note 7 for the first time Early this morning I went to charge it and like and hour in a half later it was still at below 50% so I turned the phone off and it charged up quickly like it normally does

Yeah, Android system does weird things sometimes but the simple 1 minute inconvenience is working. I'm either at 5 or 6 full charges then reboot in a row with no excessive Android system drain. On this charge I'm still at 23%, 19.5 hours up, 4.5 hours SOT.

It could be a problematic app that is constantly running in the background (see what it says on your phone is the App power monitor area that is shown in the post above yours). Your phone could be continually waking up where ever you are keeping it (ex: pocket). You should also try running it in max power saving mode and see how long it lasts you. My phone running in max power saving mode has an estimated battery life of five and a half days.

Just checked my wife's iPhone 6 plus for comparaison (not the S but the two year old model)! She doesn't have any battery optimizing features turned on. She just plugged it in for 20 minutes during the day. Everything is on.
She gets double the sot of my note 7. Triple the on battery time. I think that says it all about what is about to become the best battery on the market very soon. Hint: it came out yesterday, and now comes in jet black. P.s. I'm a Samsung fan.

Re: Battery Life Is Improving

This is normal to see. For one, the batteries need time to break in before giving you full capacity. Second, you're probably not using it as much as when you first set it up and exploring all the features.
