Good mine is also being returned. I love the note 8 this camera is amazing. I'm just not going to settle for a device that has this leakage in light. Especially since this is supposed to be waterproof

Yes! I love the phone too it's my first note device and other than the light leakage it's perfect. But hey thanks for the heads up because it probably would've taken me a little longer to discover and then I would've not been able to return!

After my intensive email to Samsung with pictures they admitted it was a defective Device. I told them after last year's debacle with the note 7 this is unacceptable. They said it's a delaminatin gissue with the Screen. I knew I was right something was off it's clear the Metal chassis is is protruding. I already called Sprint and they're sending me a brand new one all I have to do is return this 1 once I get the return key.

That is good news!

Quick update Sprint said the new note 8 they sending me is on backorder but after I chatted with a rep last night phone was shipped and will be in my hand tomorrow I will do a comparison with the one I have now to show the differences. Crossing my fingers this one isn't defective

excellent. is yours a direct from Sprint order?

I find this very funny I click on Apple's website to see their new unveiling of the apple phone which is basically adding a bunch of features that are note and Galaxy phones have had since forever and it won't let me load anything I wonder whyScreenshot_20170912-124536.jpg

Yes it's directly from Sprint I got mine on September 5th as a preorder so they said after 14 days of receiving the phone they can clearly exchange it for any device or the same one so everybody on Sprint who has this device start checking to see if yours has the Defect on the sides

My return is in process, I have to say it was an arduous process through AT&T. I'm really hoping the new one it's perfect. AT&T mentioned that it's best to do the return within the 14 days period because after that is through warranty and in that case you get a device that's opened and not brand new. Is this true?

Whoa I didn't even know that but good thing your 14 days are good because I would hate to have a used phone

Thanks also for the info! Bought mine Friday before Labor Day and arrived the following Tuesday and been sitting on my desk unopened since waiting on case. Checked my invoice and it also said 14 days so I finally opened it, pop my SIM in to do initial set up and to check for leakage with only a few days left to return if any issue... you guys got me a little paranoid lol. No leak so back in box waiting for case.

checked mine thoroughly tonight and no bleed issues. forgot to test the screen for touch and dead pixels. doing that now.

I have noticed a really weird glow on my note 8. The edges when I have the device on are leaking light. No way this is supposed to be this way.
It's even noticeable by just touching the edges of the phone. The top screen and back glass don't meet the middle metal as the galaxy s8 plus and g8 do. So having the phone on shows light leakage I thought at first it was me being picky but nope something is off with the physical make. I think by making this phone squared on the 4 corners might be a problem. Will this hold for the life of the phone? I did write to Samsung and notify them through email with pictures. As a consumer I'm paying close to 1k on a phoneI expect the build to be flawless. Does anyone else see this light leak coming from the edges. Slowly tilt the phone when the screen is on and you will closely see this. I do have a screen protector and the light reflects.

Mine also has a light leak but most visible to the left. It's even annoying in daylight.
Totally unacceptable on a 1000 Euro (1200 $) phone. Bought in Denmark.

Wow that’s pretty extreme compared to all the other pics people have posted.

I personally think they put so much adhesive that it’s still has water tight as the rest and it will probably never have any effect on your phone.

But I do think it’s outside acceptable QC tolerances and it should have been caught and never allowed to out of the factory. I guess i’d consider it a defect. I don’t think I could live with it considering the cost.
