> The Official HTC EVO Complaint Thread < {Post them here}

I have metro sense on the myTouch and when I long press the home button I have 8 apps. If an app gets that far down on the list IMO you haven't used it in a while.

But like I've said...some of these complaints have been solved already. To expect any os to do everything you want the way you want it to is unrealistic at best.

LOL you know, I've got eight in my recent apps as well. I guess I have no idea where his six limit on multitasking idea came from.

Oh, do you mean like how with the pre we could have it set to flash the notification right after we missed something? That was great! I really really miss being able to set things so that I could see notifications from the lock screen. And that the notification showed more about what was missed than they do in android. And being able to delete messages from the notification, and, and... I really miss webOS notifications. Like, a lot.

That said, I don't miss the webOS hardware. :)

I second every bit of that - I, too, came from a Pre... Well, I had a Hero after the Pre, but I just got the EVO. Still loving it, but there are definitely some areas that could be improved.

Regarding blinking notifications when charging your phone just download the app No Led. It gives you different colors for different types like email, missed call, voicemail etc. on your screen.
Thanks for the info.. without this thread then I wouldn't have known this.

My bad - it is eight... thats what I wanted to say.

Another vexatious problem that I've also notice - I'm not quite sure if this is a Android, or the phone issues.
(1) The sms notifications popping up on the lock screen, and also when your doing something else. I wish there was a way to either disabled it, or minimized the message box that pops up. Ugh!y

Since this is an EVO complaint thread, I have only two that have to do with the actual hardware.

1. No covers on the USB and HDMI ports like the EPIC's little sliding door.
2. No physical "mute all" switch like the PRE and iPhone have.

On the OS side, I would second all the things any prior webOS user has, or will say.

No controls for apps from the notification. Not being able to clear one notification at a time. No reorder of apps in launcher. I wish the folders on my homescreen would close after I open an app in them.

To clear notifications one at a time just click on them one at a time instead of hitting "Clear".

That's takes me to whatever I'm being notified of though. I just want to clear it out, without having to do that. It seems like I read on here that there is a custom ROM or launcher that has this functionality, but I'm not sure where I saw it.

When I click to edit the calendar entry and make the changes, when I'm done, I get the option to change just that entry or the entire series.

The phone is great as far as functionality. Wish it had more onboard storage, but I'll live with the paltry 1GB internal. Not much in the way of 4G coverage in parts of Atlanta, which blows considering that Clear is suppose to support the City. Also, having to pay an extra $10 a month for 4G that isn't even widespread in my town to be useable sucks, but at least I can keep 4G turned off and save some battery life.

Previous Pre Plus user. The Android apps kill. The Pre is a joke compared to the EVO. I got the EVO before CES and AT&T announcing 3 Android phones but I don't care. AT&T doing away with unlimited data meant I was leaving them anyway for someone who still has unlimited data. Sprint and the EVO were the best choice for me at the time.

Not really. Android does everything I want, exactly the way I want. I'm an Alien. It works for me. LOL!!!!

Speaking of Clear and 4G, I was at my local mall the other day and passed by a Clear Kiosk, which is in a throwing distance from the Sprint kiosk. They saw i had the Evo, and preceeded to make fun of Sprints 4G network and calling it spoty and unreliable. And turned around to build the hype about their 4G network.... What?!?! I just turned to him and asked him point blank, doesnt Sprint use YOUR network for their 4G?... He started stumbling over his own words and walked away. LOL

hey guys, my EVO is only almost 3 weeks old now, but one issue im having is games are very very laggy....especially angry birds.....is anyone else running angry birds and its very laggy?....oh, and im also not rooted....thanks guys...its been irretating me LOL

I'm not experiencing any lag on my games at all. NFSShift - Angry birds... etc.

You should do a reboot. Power phone off the phone, then hold down both the power and volume down button. You should then get a white screen with options to > Reboot Bootloader, Reboot, and Clear Storage. Choose reboot. Clear storage will completely revert the phone back to factory settings. I have no idea what reboot bootloader does.

ohh great......thats what i have been wondering how to do....REBOOT....this OS is a little differ from BB.....thanks alot man.....but will that wipe my device as well?....apps, ect....???

the genious at sprint wouldnt show me how to do a reboot....and believe me i dont rely on those guys anymore....i prolly know more than they do HAHA>....thanks alot guy

i dunno.....just did the reboot and the game is still skipping quite a bit....wierd....i just went into "manage applications" and deleted angry birds, and on the screen it says "loading"........and its been saying loading for over 5mins now.....im still under 30-days with it so may i can go to exchange it for another....not sure.....but thanks for your help though

(You don't need to return the phone.)
A reboot won't delete anything on the phone. A full erase, factory data reset, or clear storage will however wipe the phone clean, thus reverting the phone to its original state.

I don't understand how is it you're having these issues... If you're still having problem with your phone. - then you might consider to reset the device with one of reset options above.

Note: starting over will more likely fix any issues your experiencing. Reset...Only do this as a last resort.

Best of luck.

I am a newbee to the android Evo 4g had it since october 27,2010. I have an issue with the phone shutting off. I had Sprint replace it and the new one keeps shutting off while on a call. its not a update for i have up 2 date software from sprint it says.
