The official S7 /S7 Edge review thread

S7. Is the S7edge better?
Oh yes it is!! Better battery, better functions.. Honestly haven't had issues with the over heating.. I'm a pretty heavy user but I like it so far. It isn't like the iPhone 6s plus battery but it is pretty awesome

i love the phone so far... its everything i expected and more... i had the m9 that i bought only 6-7 months ago in late august but hated the camera so i opted for this phone and it helped to be waterproof, support sd cards, better battery and good camera in low light which i was looking for... the camera works great on this phone but selfie shots in low light are not good at all but i dont take selfies at night so this doesnt really apply to me... the always on display is a gimmick to me and just kills battery so i will pass on using it... i loved sense on htc and was the main reason why i stayed loyal so i figured id give touchwiz a shot and i hated it but nova launcher works great on it...the phone in general is quick and snappy, the display is crisp and looks good on youtube and instagram and the fingerprint sensor is quick also... one thing i love about touchwiz is the multitab and multitask which is pretty useful... overall im happy with this phone and can see myself keeping it for 2 years

We have had all HTC phone since the EVO and we had the M9 too. I am so used to Sense but I am getting used to touchwhiz and I really love this phone and everything about it but haven't fully experienced everything on it or messed with the edge features. I just love how you swipe over the screen for a screenshot wow! I think that is so cool!

Makes my former Iphone 6S Plus look like a dinosaur, too big and heavy. My S7 Edge in gold is not blingy, light and smaller by far than the 6S Plus. Add waterproof and micro SD expansion and wireless charging, with a quad HD screen and it is a clear winner. Glad I sold my 6S Plus.

Coming from the iPhone 6s + and I can say the exact same thing. 6s+ was too wide and tall compared to the S7Edge and the screen is to die for (Almost). Speed is on par with the iPhone but I was not a heavy user by any means. Sound quality is very good, loudness also good. I don't game, so the S7Edge was for calls, texting some, Camera, lots of emails, GPS etc. Good move on my part with all the extra goodies this phone has over the iPhone. But, still the iPhone is a good phone in its own right, but cannot understand the arguing on there forum against Android and the Samsung. Kids have to argue I guess

I just register my S7 edge and got a email from Samsung. The email said I can get a free 32G microSD card. Anyone else get the offer? As for the phone, man I wish they had white, this Silver is gonna be a pain to constantly wipe. It's a finger print magnet.

I got the same email today when I bought my phone. Went to the directed site and they said they ran out of them, so I ordered my own.

Some great feedback on this site, certainly helps when pondering the "next phone" decision. I was thinking about iPhone 6s for my next phone, however with Micro SD back in for the S7 I'm leaning heavily towards the S7, as storage is key for me. $1199.00 in New Zealand for both the S7 (32 Gb) and 6s (16 Gb). That's $75 a Gb on the iphone and to get to 64 Gb I need to go another $200.00 up or $400 up for the 128 GB. With the S7 (32 Gb) I can add another xx Gb via SD for $xx.00. (eg another 32 Gb for $50). Seems better way to go. Plus Water / Dust Proofing (and OIS on the camera as standard (as not on 6s, need to go to the 6s plus for that)). All 'n' all I think this new S7 ticks so many boxes. Had a play in store today with camera, that Auto Focus is unreal. I think Samsung have done a great job here. Also, haven't been so impressed by Build Quality / materials sine the HTC One of 2013. Looks a brilliant phone.

I have the S7 edge and it is running hot when using google maps and surfing Facebook. I have to take the case off it to get a decent signal and even then people on the other end tell me the call quality is not good. Downloading images on facebook hangs for a while as well so it is going back and I will stick with my note 5 which has had none of these issues. I love the size the screen but my note 5 is just as speedy and a better overall experience. Not to say all of them are this way, I think I may just have a dud.

Sounds like you got a bad unit

So, so far i got mine s7 regular yesterday and i wont lie, this phone is super buttery smooth on the software side like when the iphone 3gs was out before apple neutered it, everything is working on it. the only con i have right now is the signal strength indicator and the dbm arent matching up, like i should be getting about 4 bars in house with sprint like i get on the iphone but am getting 1 to 3 bars instead. but other than that it its smooth.
