The Officially Official Verizon Rep "Source" Thread

I have a feeling that whether or not stores are suppose to sell the phone, some will. I don't know if there is any ploy, but since it seems some still think the phone will go on sale tomorrow I bet some, not knowing and having the phone in stock, will sell it. I might make some calls around here to some stores to see what they say.

If the SKU locks in the device at a price of 9,999.99, I doubt any will be selling. I've seen them manually try to lower prices below the given minimum, and the computer literally won't let them.

Ah that's right I forgot about the SKU deal and 9's... oh well I guess just some wishful thinking on my part.

You guys sure that SKU will lock in at that price for indirect stores? They don't use the same retail software and when I used to run one, we could alter the price with district manager approval. That was 3 years ago, though.

Are you 100000000000000% sure that what she said isn't true? If not then you can't claim she is spreading misinformation.

I can't get over how everyone around here is so sure about what they THINK they know. We have probably sifted through more misinformation on this forum than anyone and most of us have used to form our own ideas about what's happening. That's fine, but that does not make it FACT. Total hypocrisy!

because verizon was the one that delayed it. Not google. Why would google delay it only in the USA? common sense is required in every day life. Plus sources working in corporate verizon helps.

Yeah now I'm wondering about resellers that already have the phone wonder if they will sell it for retail...

I hope indirect stores can sell it. That would be pretty sweet.

Common sense would tell you...

common sense + rumors != fact

lol it's not a rumor when its on a piece of paper on verizon letterhead sent out by the Director of procurement.

*edit* by piece of paper I mean originally email. I saw it printed out hence my phrasing.

Really? Care to share that with us?

Yeah, I've seen it at an indirect retailer too (at least a "Premium Authorized Reseller") - when I got my Bionic they literally could not lower the price below a set amount.

no my source won't let me post it unfortunately. Doesn't have reasons or specifics other than verizon has decided to hold off on the 12/9 date. Reiterates to say nothing about the device to customers other than it's coming.

She really didn't have anything to say about that. I did ask her if they had a dummy or a test phone that I could see. She went into the back and them came out and said that didn't have one. I laughed and said, "Sure, you have a brand new phone in stock and none of you have opened a box to play with it. OK." Then she tried to sell me FIOS.

That literally made me laugh out loud. How do you go from being told that you aren't telling the truth to "Hey, would you like to sign up for FIOS?"

I hope you're wrong lol I may get lucky after work.

I just got to hold one and use it. It was awesome and makes the waiting more bearable. They did say when they got it in it took like 6 hours to activate.

They only had the demo, no phones in stock. This was a corporate store. They had security on site as someone just got fired. I said they were lucky as I thought about making a run out the door. :p

He's either a very large individual, or the Nexus isn't quite as big as I thought...

It is possible that the phone could be sold tomorrow at some places even if it's not officially launched. I remember getting the Droid X2 a couple days early at best buy when it was unclear when the phone would officially drop. Best buy might be the place to check it out tomorrow and see if they can sell it.
