They all were saying this Thursday at my store. They also said they got an email to put up the demo. Still haven't seen one in person
Edit: almost forgot when I first got there the woman that greeted me said "obviously got an email about that.." pulled out her blackberry (wtf) and said abruptly "nope I didn't get an email about that" fwiw

Played with the demo unit last night at the VzW Corp store in Atlanta @Perimeter! I'm putting stock into Dec 15th!

Yeah, I thought that was funny at first.....but then I was like, gawd Verizon is stupid.....
Our only Verizon Corporate store went out of business Monday... hmm interesting, so I called the main Verizon Retailer who gave me his name and said he would call when the Galaxy Nexus is available. He knows NOTHING, he said I'm only the 2nd one to leave their name for a phone and he thinks they'll get more than 1 so I should be able to get one

that shouldn't really matter if we buy them now, which I have been they'll install the the Nexus when we get it as long as you are putting that same gmail account on your new phone!

Ah, I see. There's no demo, so they just pulled a potential sales unit from stock and "played" with that one. Nice.

Yeah, I've been doing this with my OG Droid - getting apps that I might want on the Nexus. I have had to uninstall some of them to get room. As long as it is after the 24 hour refund period, all should be good.

I don't currently own an Android device, so I will be missing out on the sale.
If you have a google account, can't you still access the market online in a browser on your computer and purchase apps?

I believe you can get a buddy to create an account for you, sign into their device with your account, then download the apps. Once Android Market shows that you have downloaded them then when you set up your new phone (using the Google account previously set up) your apps should download to your new device.
Am I wrong, anyone?
