Re: In Stock but Not Selling!
Not sure if I would say it's tinfoil territory or not. However their quarter's don't run like us. Ours end in December there's doesn't. Their fiscal year starts in October and ends in December. So with it being early in the fiscal year for them I don't think they would be making a move like that now. Another thing to think about as well, they sell them at a loss at our price, they are not paying $700+ for these phones. When you call someone like Samsung to buy a couple million devices a year they cut you a much better rate. At the most at the $299 price margin I would imagine they are breaking even.
I think the reasons they have delayed it are due to problems they have found either on their network, or how they want their lineup to roll out. Generally I would want my #1 device to release before the New Year for the Christmas people but far behind Black Friday I don't release without much press on it.
I dunno, I think everyone will be happy once they release. Maybe they are trying to insure that it's a problem free launch all the way around to help convince Google to continue bringing Nexus phones to their network, especially on exclusive deals. It would sort of make up for the AT&T iPhone deal a few years back. I'm trying to stay positive about this if you couldn't tell.
I was thinking about this the other day. I know Verizon sells phones at a loss, and I was thinking that it must be a big loss overall every time a phone is released. (Made up over time of course). With all the phones being released recently, that's a whole lot of loss in a short time period. Maybe they want to push new phones to the next quarter or something to even it out a bit more. Sorry...my tin-foil hat is a little tight this morning.
