... The high end 4" screen size

Don't say the RAZR M because that isn't a high end phone.

Samsung had the opportunity with the galaxy s III mini, but they ruined it by gimping the specs.

I think what Android needs is a device in the iphone 5 's size with galaxy s 4 specs.

Hopefully when they make the s4 mini they get it right this time.

Not for me, but there are lots of other people who really want smaller high end Android phones

What you say is true. But having enjoyed the Android experience on my Razr Maxx, my Nexus 7, and my 10" Transformer TF300, I would feel a 4 inch screen to be incredibly constraining. Either the icons would be so small or there would be fewer I could fit on a homescreen, and widgets would almost be useless.

What we need to show those people who want a smaller high end Android phone is how awesome Android is on a bigger screen. They'll never look back!

Is the RAZR MAXX HD a high-end phone?

Nah, people like my wife with tiny hands want a nice phone, a high end phone, but can't because they don't make them with Android

A high-end phone with a 4.7" screen...

The question is, well is it needed? I get what you're saying, but devices like The GS3, aren't really that huge. Doesn't seem like someone with small hands would have a hard time handling it.

Someone should make fingertip extensions to help people with tiny hands use their giant phones.;)

I think a lot of people actually do need a phone like that.
For example my Mom, my 2 sisters, my wife, her Mom, her sister and 3 of my nieces...

And of course there are many others that would buy a 4 inch screen phone.

Sent from my Photon 4G that Stupid Motorola will not upgrade to ICS or any other newer form of Android because they're a bunch of stupid lying bastards (and deserve to go to h e ll!) using Android Central Forums

You'd be surprised.

The width makes it harder for her to reach the buttons

I'd say upper mid range

That wouldn't help the women's pocket issue. Women's jeans have the tiniest pockets, even the iphone 5 top sticks out of the top of the pocket increasing the likelihood of dropping it, a case makes it even bigger.

Men's pants however;even the note 2 fits perfectly comfortably in men's pockets.

Yeah but that's one option they don't do. It isn't hard, just do it and test the market, don't give it lowered specs like Samsung, keep it equal

..and other than screen size and resolution, how so similar is a RAZR MAXX HD to a RAZR M?

They are kinda similar

The droid razr maxx hd Is bigger and has more internal memory and way better battery life.

Internal memory OK.

Battery size is a given because the M is physically much smaller RAZR HD.

I have small hands for a guy and one thing I dislike about having an S3 is my inability to reach all four corners of the screen with my thumb. I have to do this precarious one handed shuffle balance thing and risk dropping it (happens a lot) or put everything down to use both hands.

I could EASILY one-hand the Captivate and Epic.

You're making my point!

Why leave those that want smaller phones out of the high end phone game?

People always say "well the big screen phones are selling so well so that proves the market wants them" when actually no it doesn't.

When you look at high end phones, the highest end are always larger.

When they do make a smaller phone they make it mid range or low end, THAT'S why people don't buy it.

There's a market for all screen sizes, so why the race to go bigger and no one is going smaller?

Is a high end smaller phone too much to ask for?

I think not

Wasn't the whole point of making a bigger phone with a larger screen exactly so that companies could get away with using larger batteries and cram in more specs, without needing to invest more in miniaturising the parts (like what Apple did with their iphone?) I doubt they would be able to recreate an android phone that is of the same size as the iphone4, sports a similar build quality, and boasts the same battery life.

Apple did it.

Obviously is CAN be done.

It just needs to be done

Since the screen is the biggest battery user, making the screen smaller means the battery can be smaller.

Batteries are bigger because the screen is bigger, not the other way around.
