*Update to my earlier post*
Went by Best Buy again this evening and spent some time again with both phones in all three display modes. I apologize but I need to correct what I had said earlier.
Both the slight red color shift and the slight additional contrast are apparent in the adaptive display mode on the smaller P3. However, regarding the Boost mode and the Neutral Mode on the P3 (compared to the 3 XL)- though the very slight increase in contrast remains, I'm happy to report that to my eyes, the red color shift is not there in these two modes (only in Adaptive does the red shift occur). And again, it's really slight and not an issue.
I viewed both the 3 and 3 XL displays from off-axis points as well. If you look at a white screen and really crank the phone off-axis, yes, you can see a slight rose color, just like most (all?) oled phones on the market cranked off-axis have a color shift. So, it does what mobile device displays normally do, and is not like the blue shift on the PXL 2. That was bad, this is not. I keep my phone on my desk on a stand at a near 35 or so degree angle to my eyes, or flat on the table in meetings to the left of my laptop (IE off-axis). I mimicked both scenarios with both the P3 and P3 XL, and both phones were fine.
So, no garish rose/red/pink tone in the smaller P3.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
