The pre order button is up

Well, I just got back from the AT&T store. I managed to get the $50 off, so my total order will be $150. It's preordered... now I just wait. :)
 
Website is working again! I just processed my order.

And I'll second the question: How'd you guys get extra $50 off?
 
The premier website is up and running ordering phone now check out works 100% gave me 199 price

"The phone you've chosen is NOT COMPATIBLE with the following feature(s) currently on your account:

Data Plan for iPhone

Note: To avoid excessive charges, please log into att.com/mywireless or call Customer Care at 800-331-0500 after you've activated your new device to remove your current incompatible feature(s) and to add new compatible feature(s) to your account."

Do I need to call to get this sorted out before I order?

If there's no option to select Personal Smartphone unlimited, you may have to call or go to a store. The website is terrible, IMO, and the fact that there are separate, conflicting data plans for different classes of smartphones (iPhones, Blackberries, etc) means that simple upgrades usually cannot be performed by anyone but an at&t employee.

So after several hours of waiting and trying to deal with the "premier" customer care reps, I decided to go to the ATT store and preorder in person. I got the preorder in and I hope everything works smoothly from here on out. I'm a little confused about several things:

1) At the ATT store I made clear that I wanted to keep my unlimited data plan. (I'm switching from the blackberry bold 9700) They confirmed that I would be able to maintain the unlimited data plan. However, beyond that, they never asked me anything else about my data plan. Also my receipt from the store doesn't saying anything about a data plan and I don't see anything about what data plan I will be switched to.

2) I came back home and checked to see how much it would have been to order the phone from my online account and it gave me some strange price like $268 with no commitment. I don't know how that's even possible. My line wasn't eligible for upgrade from the beginning (I used the upgrade from another line on the account) so when the ATT "premier" customer care reps were giving me price they were giving me in the $500-$600 range.
 
I quit trying on the website. I am going in when I get off shift on Tuesday and will just deal with my rep in person. This is for the better anyways, I would have probably just messed my plan up anyways. Plus I know my rep personally and she always takes great care of me.
 
has anyone been able to pre order online for the full $600 price off-contract. My contract ends in September but my phone is broken and I am prepared to pay $600 but I do not want to extent my contract another two years. When I click on the phone and then go to add it to my cart the price says $199 and there is a link below saying "learn more about early termination". Does this mean that ATT will charge me to terminate my contract then enter me a new two year contract with the Atrix?! How dp I just buy the phone?!!!

Same thing happened to me. I used the preoder and selected a 4G tiered plan even though I will be grandfathered in. The new plan doesn't take effect until you activate the phone. The reps have no clue about the policy for grandfathered accounts. The information hasn't worked its way down to the reps with regards to the clarification (I talked to one today)
I've been with them for 11 years, so I hope they wouldn't shaft me.

I accepted the smartphone personal. It's unlimited $30.
 
Anyone planning to buy this thing for the full no commitment price because you don't care to be on contract? When I log into my account, and click to do an upgrade for the no commitment price, I see the no commitment price listed for the phone, but when I click the pre-order button it shows the 2 year contract pricing. Right now, I'm just going to wait and try again some other time or maybe call, but was just wondering if anyone has already successfully pre-ordered off contract?

i had the same issue. it wont let me preorder it for no commitment price...:mad::mad:
