The S8 is the smoothest Android interface I've ever used. Thoughts?

How are you using so many phones? Just curious...
Meaning how do I use my sim? I had some free lines from T-Mobile earlier but now just use one line/sim and switch between them every few days or couple of weeks. All of my data/music/photos is in the cloud so switching between them is just a simple put a sim on the phone and ready to go. Generally I carry two phones on my daily, one in my pocket and one in the work bag and connected to WiFi. I try to spend few days with each phone as a daily driver. After few months just sell them. For example recently sold the Pixel XL, OnePlus 5. I may sell off the U11 if essential phone releases and shows some promise. I do have a bad habit and I plan to eventually quit flipping between various phones and just settle on one. My wife is still using iPhone 6s and has zero complaints 😂😂😂

I use a lot of flagships and Saumsung UX is my least preferred which stutters the most and lags here and there. It's improved a lot in S8 compared to S7 so that's good sign.

Based on my usage of phones I owned, here is what I prefer in terms of buttery smooth performance. This just takes UX perf and not features, other advantages phones have in other areas.

1. iPhone 7 Plus/Pixel XL
2. Xperia XZ premium
3. One Plus 5
4. U11
5. S8+
6. G6 (my least preferred)

I haven't used flagship Moto phones but have G5 plus and based on how well that performs that will sit near OP5, U11 etc.

I've heard the Pixel is smooth but I've also read and seen where its a lot like the Nexus 6p but just tweaked out. I measure all my Android devices up against the Nexus 6p as it was indeed a smooth device. I find that you state the LG G6 is your least on your list. I've not used it but I almost got it over the S8 in fact. I've heard good things about that phone. What is it you don't like?

Note this is just my preference and opinion, and if you snap Nova launcher on any of them they all perform similar (very close). My list is based on out of the box experience. Personally G6 was the worst out of box UX experience, looks bad, stutters here and there. At least the S8 UX looks good out of the box, minus the stutters here and there. Something with the G6 it never appealed to me in my use with it other than the great wide angle camera. It's definitely my least preferred phone.

The regular sized S8 is smooth but not the smoothest of all the Android phones I've used. OP3T and Pixel are smoother and the 6P isn't far behind with custom ROM and kernel and some governor tweaks.

May just be me but the S8+ is just gorgeous

Oh absolutely. It is a shame VZW does not carry the U11!
Yeah that's disappointing, I have seen people have bad experience using the unlocked U11 on Verizon. May be all carriers will agree to carry U12 next year. More choices good for consumers. To be fair S8+ looks gorgeous in all directions but U11 only from the back with it's shiny stand out colors 😉😉

one who waits three years to upgrade? the max I waited was two years.. now it's an every year thing and I think Samsung has finally done it with this and future devices. iPhones are the same phone every year if they were to innovate I might go back but the s8 plus has been my daily driver for the past three months and I haven't even thought of looming back

The smoothest experience I've had on all the Android phones I purchased this year was on the Mate 9. The S8 is smooth, but not the smoothest experience out there.

The Nexus 6p was an awesome device. I use it as my measuring stick on Android devices. There was not much on that phone that I did not like. Other than it being huge I loved it and it was smooth as butter. The S8 is very similar.

The Mate 9 has been on my list. In fact my favorite Android interface if you can even call it Android is EMUI. I absolutely loved the software experience. I used an honor 8 for a long time as my daily phone before I got this S8 regular size which by the way I'm soooo happy I stuck with the regular size. I was tempted by the plus but I like one handed devices. I would have regretted it in the end

So I went to my buddies place tonight which is a good friend of mine who used to work for apple in santa clara. He left not long ago and was making an ungodly amount per month which was around 24k per! Anyways my S8 is totally unlocked and he flashed it so it's like I bought it direct from Samsung now! I'm super excited. Took him 15 minutes to flash it and handed me a new unlocked carrier branded free of all bloat ware S8!! Being that of course he is through and through a apple guy which I would be too had I been recruited by them and paid that type of money he made but he had good things to say about the S8. He liked it. I was shocked to hear him say that lol. Note that does not mean he'd go buy one and use it though lol. He's so far advanced that I can't even speak his language. His specialty is security and that in fact was why apple recruited him for 5 years as he had wrote a security program that apple wanted and could not replicate. He caved in at 24k a month. He then signed a three year contract with them and split time between here in Mississippi and Santa Clara, CA. The guy is like Einstein brllisnt in his world. I always defer to him on stuff like he did for me tonight. I only had to pay his developer fee to unlock my device which wasn't expensive but I'm super stoked that I now have zero carrier bloat ware or screens that pop up when you turn on the phone. I'm free!!! Lol.

Really you say the guy makes that much money and you have to pay him to flash a firmware ??? 😂😂😂

I can't pay anyone to do that to mine. I will deal with the "Verizon" logo at start versus giving someone cash to get rid of something I only see when I reboot :P.

No it was pay the unlock fee that his account was charged. $55 bucks. No it's not like he needed the money but it was over my pay grade to totally unlock me so I paid his developer fee which they charged him. It would have been near $100 so I didn't mind. He flashed my rom for nothing. He's cool.

Yeah it would have been nice to have not had to pay the unlock fee but with him doing all the other for free I couldn't ask him to pay it for me. Plus he's about to sell me a Mac book air for $300 bucks which is a steep discount by itself. All the years I've used Apple and I've never owned a Mac laptop. I'm looking forward to buying that for that price.
