The S8 is the smoothest Android interface I've ever used. Thoughts?

When he flashed my S8 I got the option back to change my home buttons color to any color I wanted. I guess it could cause a burn in but I don't think it will. I've got it set to the color I like now so I gained that option back. I guess that was a specific carrier option change and not Samsung.

Note this is just my preference and opinion, and if you snap Nova launcher on any of them they all perform similar (very close). My list is based on out of the box experience. Personally G6 was the worst out of box UX experience, looks bad, stutters here and there. At least the S8 UX looks good out of the box, minus the stutters here and there. Something with the G6 it never appealed to me in my use with it other than the great wide angle camera. It's definitely my least preferred phone.

Funny i've had no issues with my g6 here, had more stutters on my s8+ than i have now in fact xD. Though i do agree their Ui looks so bad XD oh well at least you can theme both .....

The navigation bar colors update was a Samsung thing, not a carrier thing. The unlocked software got it first, then the carriers. What version software are you on? It sounds like you are a version behind.

By far the S8 is the smoothest. Only when I got down to less than 10 gigs left did I encounter jank.
And that's with all social media apps updating and running constantly.

The SoC 835 is beastly. If games aren't running well they haven't been optimized .

Even Erica Griffin show that all phones throttle after awhile. (Games)

Yeah that's disappointing, I have seen people have bad experience using the unlocked U11 on Verizon. May be all carriers will agree to carry U12 next year. More choices good for consumers. To be fair S8+ looks gorgeous in all directions but U11 only from the back with it's shiny stand out colors 😉😉
Do you use cases on your devices?

I generally have a slim case which I slap on when I'm out. At work and home where there isn't much hard surface and mostly carpet/wood floor I use it without a case. So depends :)

I have considered going caseless with my S8+. I work at a bank so I am sitting in my office most of the time. At home we have carpet. Has the phone held up well to scratches?

It has, if I try to look closely holding it under a bright light I'm sure I'll find some microscopic scratches but that doesn't bother me at all. I also don't use screen protectors since I love just the glass feel on the phone without any additional layers (yeah I know there are glass screen protectors but still I don't like screen protectors).

I also try to keep my phone in my left pocket and keys in right so most of the time the phone has nothing to scratch to. With the current generation of glasses you should be fine from visible scratches in day to day use at least based on my experience.

Great phone. Doesn't bog down like other. I loved mine till it broke. Too bad customer service is terrible. You would think Google would support their products under warranty. Probably wouldn't buy another one.

Awesome! I'm gonna have to give it a go.

Is it due to the Bixby button being accidentally being squeezed due to tighter fit of larger phone in pocket? Never thought that would happen with that button.

Anyone else having a problem with their S8+ coming on in their pocket??

Let me check. I already updated my device and installed the update. I'll check and post it up.

No I didn't get that update. It's my understanding that was carrier related. I don't know though for sure.
Unlocked got the update a couple weeks before carriers. It should be showing the update available for you. You should also be on June security patch.

It doesn't look like your getting updates. May wanna talk to your buddy.

I wonder why I didn't get that update. It has to be carrier related as I got the other update.
It's not carrier related. The unlocked phones got the update first, then carrier. The nav bar update came directly from Samsung. You don't even have the option to hide the nav bar.

It appears you aren't getting updates now.
