The Screen Lock: Getting rid of it

My problem is that I don't see a way to disable the pin lock, making it mandatory. I didn't have a pin lock on 2.1 and now it seems as though it is required when I unlock my phone. Can anyone shed some insight on disabling it.?

Did you go to Setting>Location & Security? In there you can change or disable your screen lock (pattern, PIN or password) as well as adjusting the security lock timer and setting up a restriction lock.

SOLUTION FOR MOST

Someone posted in another thread that if you delete your corporate email, you have access to disabling the screen lock. Once you disable it, go back and add your corporate email again. I did it and it works for me.

dumb question....whats the corporate email? i got my gmail and an aol email account on my phone. that's it.

Also...does anyone have the option to just have the slide lock only? its either i can have no lock screen, or when i chose the pattern lock i have to slide unlock, then use the pattern. I figured i only needed one but its either both or none it seems.

lol i thought i was the only one bugging about this. I installed the leak one a while back and i couldnt take the swipe lock off and i thought "oh this is trippy, must be because of its a leak". Downgraded to 2.1 and took off the swipe lock, upgraded to official 2.2 and now its just gone. Sigh. I would love to hear some more solutions. Thanks guys.

For me, I got the option to disable it after removing my corporate (school) account. A corporate account is the one called "Corporate Sync" when adding a new account but from your description, it seems unlikely that you made one.

This is just a blind guess, but try removing your AOL email from the phone and see if it'll give you the option of no security for locks.

No option for slide lock only. It's either both or none. Hopefully they fix that soon cuz that's annoying as heck (though I must admit I've already gotten used to it).

Yeah I had mine off on 2.1 before updating to and the "slide lock " wasn't there .But I had to do a hard reset since I was having problem with my WiFi's

So now it is back lol.
Noluck app fixed it but if you ever do a reset then its like "welcome to the party trippy " lol because it will be back
